Since purchasing the unit at the address associated with this complaint I have noticed a number of incidents that relate to the property management provided by *********************** at Renter's Choice in ******************. I have had enormous difficulty having basic requests handled included things like noise complaints and what I believe are unreasonable fees and delays in providing services that are expected of property management companies (for example, I am being asked for roughly $*** in fees for condo documents). At this moment I am actually trying to sell the unit and my real estate agent is telling me that a deal we have is about to fall through because condo documents that should have already been on file have not been received by his office (those documents were requested nearly * weeks ago). Around the beginning of this year I was told that the property management company is not responsible for handling resident complaints and that things like this would need to either be handled among residents are a noise complaint would need to be submitted to the local authorities. I did try to follow ***'s instructions and attempted to deal with noise issues by talking to others on behalf of affected residents in the building (people attempted to intimidate me after following these instructions and was also slandered by another resident for simply wanting excessive early morning noise to stop after nearly * weeks of being patient). I was the Vice-President then later President of the Novo * strata council in *******, ** for a nearly ** year period and I worked hand in hand with the strata corporation there. I have NEVER seen a more hands off management approach and I felt this report was warranted at this time. My realtor has also supported my sending of this report and he has a negative history of dealing with renter's Choice and *********************** in particular. The management of *********************** #******* is done by RC Condo Management which is a registered trade name of Renter's Choice & Management **** Attached are documents from provincial legislation which provide timeline and cost of documents requested during the sale of a condominium. Condo managers do utilize city bylaws to assist in resolution of disturbances such as noise, parking and pets and condo managers ask the condo owner to participate in placing the call to the local authority to ensure the time of call matches the time of disturbance because the condo manager cannot attest that the dog is excessively barking.Customer response

Hello,
My realtor appears to have received the information needed for the sale of my unit and it looks like I will be leaving the area served by the company that was the subject of my initial complaint. My desire was for the job to be done and to leave here in peace without hindrance or obstruction so that I can recover my health. I feel that things have been sufficiently handled by RC Condo Management now and that it would be responsible to update your office as well. Thank you for your time and i appreciate being able to communicate with the Better Business Bureau when matters like this come up.

Advertised on their tenant application, they say that they dont do a credit check. We answered many invasive questions because we were very interested in the property but were rejected after our credit score dropped.Business response

The attachment is a screenshot of a text ***********************, ************* to ******************* , sent to our application clerk, *****. ***** expressed she was not comfortable following our process and expressed she was comfortable doing a credit report. The application process could have ended there however we were willing to accept a credit check because that is what the applicant said she was comfortable doing.Because our process does not include a credit check our team does not know how a credit report impacts credit, if it does.
