I dropped my 1969 Mustang off April 18, 2023 to have the transmission replaced. I was verbally quoted $8,000 to $10,000 and it would take 2-3 weeks. Today is Feb 15, 2024 and I still do not have my car back and the job has not been completed. ****** ********, the *****, told me that he only works on my car on weekends because weekdays are for cars that keep his shop open, and that he doesn't have time to work on my car because he has too much paperwork to do. They have described this as a major restoration. I did not ask for that, nor do I want a restoration. They have modified parts that I already modified and rather than ask for approval or provide any options, they tell me after the fact what they decided to do. For example, ****** told me he was having issues with the exhaust, I told him that I just replaced the exhaust and did not want to do that again. A week or so later, he told me my new headers arrived. I did not want new headers and had I been asked, I would have told him to put in a smaller transmission rather than rebuild my car around it. I was not given that opportunity. They no longer communicate with me, won't tell me what has to be done nor when it will be finished.
