We hired "Master Fix Buildings" to perform plumbing and HVAC work, including the installation of 8 diffusers, in compliance with city codes. Initially, we agreed on a total cost of $20,000, with a $10,000 deposit paid upfront. The balance was to be paid upon completion of the work.However, after the inspection, "Master Fix Buildings" presented us with a new invoice (attached) that included extra charges for work that was neither requested by us nor mandated by our engineer or the city at the outset. These additional charges were ignored initially by the company but were later added to the invoice after they were forced to comply with city inspection requirements.Business response

Regarding Mrs. ****************** project, we initially provided an estimate for the work. However, during the course of the project, additional tasks arose, such as the installation of a wall-hung toilet, as well as issues with the wrong-sized grease trap or kitchen faucet purchased by the customer. These changes required extra labor and materials. Each time, we discussed these modifications with the customer, received verbal approval, and then proceeded with the work. Despite being satisfied with the quality of the completed work, Mrs. ******* refused to pay the remaining balance after we issued the invoice, two months after the project's completion.
In an effort to avoid a legal dispute, I accepted a cheque on July 27th, which covered the initial estimate but excluded the cost of the extra work and materials used. It is also important to note that Mrs. ******* has underpaid both the electrician and builder for their work on this project, and both are willing to provide testimonials regarding this matter.

Hi,
I assumed this complaint was resolved; however, Mr. **** has accepted the cheque and adjusted the bill accordingly.
The cheque for the remaining balance has been accepted, and there are no further issues.
