I have a contract for a new metal roof, signed 30 Jan 2023, for which I gave Ironwood a ****** deposit. The work was to be done May/June. They have not come, and when I call to find out when they might come, my calls are not returned. I caught him at home once and he said early July, but that time has also come & gone without any work being started. I have lost trust. I want my deposit back so I can go with a reliable firm.Customer response

I wish to file a 3-part complaint against Ironwood Shake & Tile Ltd. and request help from the BBB to resolve the issues with regard to Ironwood’s snowrail installation on my Ironwood metal shingle roof (that work having been done in 2010 and 2014 and paid for in the amounts of $******** and $********* respectively for a total of $*********: 1. Proper invoice/bill/receipt: I h*** not received a correct bill/invoice for my snowrail installation done on Dec. 4, 2021 in spite of asking for it three times and being promised it twice, once by Ironwood owner Jesse Anglin. At the moment the only document I h*** is a March 2021 quote, and that is not for the same amount of money as I was asked to pay on the installation date ($******** versus $******** for the same length of snowrail). I would like the receipt/invoice to show the snowrail work done, the warranty, and that the job has been paid. 2. Remedy for section of roof without full protection of snow rails: In my Dec. 23, 2021 email to Mr. Anglin about the “odd” look of one of the roof sections at the front of my house, I clearly stated that the area of ground under the roof near the entrance walkway to my front door was not adequately protected by the snowrails on the roof—the installation was short. I asked Mr. Anglin to send someone out to see this, and to suggest a remedy. I did not get a reply to this concern about the job. 3. Financial consideration for Ironwood’s failed promises for installation and documentation, made from the spring to the end of 2021, and failure to communicate with me in a timely fashion: From March 2021 until December 2021 I was promised numerous times by Ironwood foreman **** and also by Ironwood owner Jesse Anglin that my snowrails would be installed. When appointments were not kept, I had to chase after the company to find out what had happened. In one instance, I cancelled a medical follow up to my foot surgery to be at home for a promised appointment. ******* ** ********** *********Business response

1A. ***** ***** requested an invoice which was provided to her via email on Dec 27th, 2021. If ***** misplaced or did not receive this email, we are happy to resend it out. All she had to do was call and let us know.
1B. As for the amounts being incorrect. ***** paid the for the snow rail that was installed. I agree that our installer made a small mistake in calculating the cost. If she would like we can reimburse her $****
1C. Again, we are happy to provide a new paid in full invoice if ***** needs one. The snow rails do not have a warranty and she was never told that they did, so that is something we cannot provide.
2. The amount of snow rail which was installed was the exact amount ***** wanted, 55ft* ***** had previously complained about cost and on multiple occasions, tried to work up situations to reuses older snow rails from other sections of the house to lower the cost. Unfortunately, that is not a possibility as they screw directly into the roof. If ***** wanted the snow rail to extent to the end of the roof in question, she would have needed 60ft, which was clearly explained to her.
3. Ironwood will not be giving any financial concertation to this matter. ***** had requested snow rails in the summer of 2021. Our head installer came out to figure out the amount and cost, 55ft. At that time, he made a mistake by saying he would come back on a certain day to do them. Unfortunately, he does not do the scheduling, and this was not a possibility. I personally talked to ***** to let her know we do not install snow rails in the summer as we are busy trying to install roofs. That we would make sure the snow rails would be on before it snowed, and they were. On a side note, ***** refused to have us do any snow rail work without her there (we did not need any home access) which made scheduling the job extremely hard. We were only given certain dates and times to be on site which did not always match our availability. ***** did make several calls to Ironwood, but all were in the time line that we were not installing snow rails. She complained that we were not coming even though she was told we did not do them during that period, she was guaranteed that they would be installed before the snow came, which as stated before, they were.
