We contracted with Remi Realty to manage our Strata for a fee of $845 per month starting on 1 Feb 2019. On 1st May 2020, they started to charge us $1216.50 per month without consulting council or getting our approval. This is an almost 50% jump in the fees. I don't know how one should describe this kind of action politely. I have reached out to the President of Remi Realty, Wayne C**. Initially he said that he will look into it and correct the problem, but in the end he is refusing to do so. Hope the bureau can get our problem sorted out. Thanks *******Business response

Our contracted started Feb 1, 2019 at $845 per month + GST. The strata council and the owners approved the management fees increase at the Annual General Meetings for 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 fiscal year. We therefore billed accordingly. The council president did not question until recently. Our Managing Broker has explained to council members, including the council president in detail. We advised the GST must be applied to our management fees and our fee is still below industry average. We advised further discussion is welcomed.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:
The Property Manager did not alert us to the Management Fee increase. All they focused on was strata fees, insurance etc. Don't you think that this is unethical?
