My car was fixed at Taylormotive twice in the past 10 years. The original repairs were performed on the rear bumper and paint in 2012 and after 5 years the paint started cracking. The second one was performed on the same bumper in 2018, 3 years later in 2021, the paint started peeling off. "This is why we offer our customers the best warranty in the industry. All of our paint and body repairs are guaranteed for as long as you own the vehicle." This is advertised on their website ***************************** I recently visited the shop to have the bumper repainted properly and was told that the repairs were not performed adequately by the previous shop. Ironically, the previous repairs were performed by Taylormotive in 2012! I would like Taylormotive to repaint the bumper free of charge.Business response

Tell us why here...We originally did a spot repair and paint on this bumper in 2012. at that time it was not the first time this part had been painted. When the customer came in for repairs in 2018 the damage was to the lower rt corner. At that time the paint was starting to peel in areas of the bumper that we hadn't repaired (previous repairs). We advised the customer at that time that he should replace the bumper cover as there was now to much paint on the bumper and it would eventually peel again. We advised that it was a good time to do this as **** was paying the paint and labour to replace and all that he would be responsible for was the price of the part. (approx. $300.00). He declined and we included in his invoice a note that we would not be able to guarantee this repair. The repairs did look cosmetically great when the vehicle was picked up and over time in the customers mind he remembered that the bumper cover was replaced. When he returned with the peeling he was sure we had replaced the cover. We had no receipt for a new bumper and the customer didn't either. We would gladly repaint but it needs a new bumper cover, his responsibility.Customer response

My complaint is consistent and I shared the details with all below and I have proof in my emails:

It's very simple, I had this car only fixed at Taylormotive. Two times. I don't understand what is the problem, they clearly advertise they guarantee their repairs. If they did not, I would have chosen a different shop. How can they stand behind their work if it lasts for under 3 years?
My original proposal in 2018 was to split the cost of the new bumper. The new bumper was around $500. I agreed to pay $250, and they would install it and paint it. This did not happen, they only painted it then.
Today, I would like to propose it again, I will pay for half of the new bumper and they will install it and paint it.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because I don't need the new bumper. There is nothing wrong with it. All I want is Taylormotive to paint it. The paint they applied is peeling off. Deal?

The customer refused to pay for a replacement bumper when told that what was needed for a proper guaranteed repair in the first place. Customer admitted that he was told and Still refusing to pay for the part that they were told and quoted be replaced and refused again. the customer is responsible for the bumper.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because: I don't need the bumper to be replaced. There is nothing wrong with it. It was painted by Taylormotive in 2018 and now the paint is peeling off. I want them to paint it again since they guarantee their work for as long as I own the car.

Concerning repainting this bumper, the paint will not adhere properly to the deteriorated bumper material that was documented, discussed and explained in detail with Mr. ********* on his 2018 work order as not a guaranteed repair due to deteriorated bumper not being replaced. Mr. ********* refused to replace the bumper at that time in 2018 and still is refusing to replace the old bumper.
Our Final Offer for a New Bumper $350.00 including Taxes
Taylormotive would remove the old bumper. Prep and Paint the New Bumper and installation would be no charge.
Mr. ********* would need to pay $350.00 for the New Bumper.
This would need to be paid up front before the Job would be started.
