Very disappointed with Russ’s conduct and the way he deals business from Arjay Mechanical. Russ came to my home the beginning of Dec 2021 to provide me with a quotation for a fan and cook top installation. My island was not completed at that time; but I wanted a professional to install my Fan and cook top. On Dec 13 2021 Russ provided me with his Quotation not only for the fan and cook top but for all of my kitchen appliances. (Of note I am doing a complete renovation of my kitchen) His quote to install all of my appliances was $875.00 + any parts required + GST and provincial gas permit for $122 Again please note that this quote was to install dishwasher, fridge, double oven, microwave and kit, cooktop and down vent (aka) fan After receiving this quote I confirmed with Russ on Dec 13th that I would be hiring him just to install the Bosch cooktop at $175.00 and ***** downdraft at $375.00 which he agreed. He was aware that installation would likely be done in the New Year since island was not completed and stone not cut. I contacted Russ leaving him 3 voice messages and 3 text messages beginning of Jan 2022 and he never returned my calls or text until I had to get a 3rd party involved person that recommended to hire Russ to install my cooktop and fan. Russ sent me a text to inform me that his prices had increased in the New Year and if I wanted him to install the cooktop and fan this would be his new fee - installation of the downdraft $575.00 + additional cost for any parts and $225.00 + gas permit. I sent Russ an email with a copy of his initial quote and advised him that I felt that his request to increase his fee in the New Year was not reasonable or fair since he had agreed to take the job in Dec and he knew very well that installation wouldn’t be done until the New Year. He never responded to my email but did inform the individual that recommended him that he would be coming down to my home on Tuesday January 11th. I called Russ earlier today to cfm the time he would be coming down tomorrow and he asked me to send him a photo of the island and cooktop which I did. Russ text me to say “* ***** * **** **** ** **** ** **** *** ***” Talk about unprofessional conduct when he took the job back in Dec let alone increasing his fee now after he had provided me his quote and confirmed he would do the job. I would NEVER EVER recommend this company for any work. I wanted the public to know what kind of person Russ is and how he deals business!! *** ********

Arjay Mechanical has been in the business for well over 25 years satisfying countless customers with very little negative feed back. This customer was very difficult to deal with from the first day we met, Her and her husband were bashing the other trades and yelling at a steady rate pretty much the whole time we were onsite. I then told ******** that there is a site visit charge of $100 plus GST which she pushed and pushed me to accept cash. I told her that we don't accept cash unless it is with GST and a receipt which we finally did. I tried to explain to her how the rough inns go for the cook top and the pop up vent plus the gas permit and then she wanted no gas permit which again told her we don't operate that way either. On Monday January 10th she wanted me to do a site visit, I said we would but asked for some pictures, she sent some and I could see that the venting rough in was not in the right spot and there are still no counter tops in to install the pop up vent. I could see then that it would be alot more work at that point so we told her that the original price was not accurate and I would have to requote due to there would be alot of extra work to fix the mistakes. After that this customer started screaming and yelling at my apprentice on the phone. I then called her back myself and received the same treatment and that's when I had to tell her we would have to pass on the job concerned that her abusive attitude would escalate after that point.

This is a response to Russ ‘s post made on Jan 11,2022 Russ goes on to say that my husband and I were very difficult to deal with from the first day we met and that we were bashing other trades. * ****** **** ** *** **** **** ***** ** ********* *** ******  *** ***** ** ****** The truth is that Russ himself was bashing my other trades by saying that the gas line was not properly sealed and said that work done was not very good workmanship and didn’t know how that person was still in business. Really Russ at least when I received a quote from them they didn’t come back to charge more money!! In regards to him stating that my husband and I were very difficult that comment is beyond me since he was joking around smiling and shook our hands and said that we were in good hands with him because he was going to do the job properly!! If you call that being difficult with Russ please help me out here because that is FAR from the truth. Frankly it seems to me because I have lodged a complaint against Russ and his company Arjay Mechanical he wants to shift the light from himself and say negative comments about me and my husband. I also would like to add that I gave Russ a cheque of $105.00 on Dec 3rd and this was for a deposit towards the downdraft installation. Receipt even states that and Russ wrote the receipt himself. I kindly asked Russ since he declined to complete the installation to reimburse the $105.00 back to me and Russ is now refusing to reimburse me ***** ***** *** **** **** ** ****** ** ** *** *** ** ***** *********  I also want everyone to know that today I received an email from Russ stating the following “* *** **** ***** ** **** *** ** *** **** * ***** ** ** *** *** ******** ***** **** *** ****** **** ***** *** *** ** *** **** ********* ***** ***** ** *** ** **** ** ********* ** ***** **** ****** ***** ***** *** ****** ***** ** ****** **** ** *** *** ***** ** ** *** *** ** *** ******* ***** *** *** ** *** **** **** * ******** *** ** *** ** ****** **** ** *** ************ ** ** ** ***** ******* * ** * ****** **** ****** ** *** ****** *** * *** **** **** ****** ** ****** *** ** *** *** *** ******* *** *** ** ***** ********** Like I mentioned in my initial comments about Russ and his Company Arjay Mechanical I would NOT recommend this company to do any work for you!! Please beware!! I certainly don’t want any of you to deal with him and his antics !! Thx ********
