I had my car towed to SS automotive on Wed April 20, 2022. He put the car on the scanner that detects what’s wrong with the vehicle. He told me my car was missing which was obvious cause that’s why I brought it in . He said it was the coil pack or possibly the spark plugs. He said my car would be ready the next days cause he couldn’t get parts till the next day. The next day I called at about 936am to see when my car would be ready he said about half hour. I got there about 1015am and my car wasn’t ready and he was saying the new part I just paid for that he put in was acting up and probably faulty. And I said how can that be. Well he was saying that cause after he put 250 bucks worth of new parts in my car, it was still doing the same thing. Them new parts didn’t even fix the reason I brought the car in there. He said he was short on workers and he had has two other mechanics working in the shop on one other vehicle while two were working on mine. A young girl who had a *** attitude and telling me *** *** about the way my car was. I need leaving there paying 300 for new parts that my car didn’t end to begin with cause newer parts didn’t make a difference in the way the car was running. He wanted to keep my car longer to see if he figure it out. Well no, their a *******, their not that difficult to figure out. I am so not happy with this service. I left the shop with my car and barely made it to the highway before I pulled over and called a tow truck to come rescue me. Right outside their shop it broke down after paying 300 for new parts they put in. They out in parts that weren’t even necessary. My old parts were working fine and them parts weren’t the problem cause my car is still doing the same thing. I’ve had a tow truck rescue me and my car is now at ****** in fort St. John, bc waiting services for Monday. I hope those mechanics at the SS automotive didn’t blow any of my seals in my car driving it and out of the shop when my car had no power to go .imnothappy

**** ******* Had called in for a service call to go scan her vehicle since it was running poorly. We told her that we would try and find someone to come out as we normally don't do call outs. A few hour later she called back and said she would get her car towed here, at which point everything was fine. Once car had shown up I explained to her that we would get to it as soon as possible since we were short handed, and she was good with that and left. She called a little while later asking if the problem was what we had thought it might be which was a miss fire causes by a faulty coil should we change all the plugs and all coils since they were never done since she's owned the vehicle, I explained to her that I haven't had the chance to look at the vehicle yet but if it was due to a bad coil or 2 we should do a tune up and only change the coil or coils that where bad. When we found out that it did have a miss fire we narrowed the 2 cylinders that were miss firing and explained to her that here engine has 1 solid coil pack instead of individual coils, so we would have to change the whole pack and do a tune up and that we couldn't get parts until 9:30am the next day. At which point she started to get angry so I asked if she still wanted to get the work done as we hadn't started it yet and she agreed so parts where ordered. The next morning right at 9:30 I got a call from her asking if her car was done and I explained that the parts had just shown up and that we were still short handed but I was clearing my time to install the parts. 30 mins later she showed up at the shop came into the back as I was working on her vehicle ******* and ********* that her vehicle wasn't done and that we must have put used parts in her car because the parts I sold her were cheaper than she could find. at which point I showed her the new part and the box it came in, but she still refused to believe me and stormed back into the front office. I finished putting the parts in and there was still a misfire, so I came upfront and tried to explain to her that there was still an underlying problem that had to be diagnosed at which point she started ******* and ******* in front of other customers, I had tried to explain that I wasn't charging her for the rest of the diagnosis but she just kept ******* and ********* calling myself and other staff members down and ******** at us. At which point I tied to explain the situation again but it fell on deaf ears, she said she wanted her car back as is so just to get her out of the shop and stop anything from esculating I told her I would just charge her for the parts that where installed and that I wouln't be charging her for any labor. That didn't even calm the situation down but she did pay for parts, and ****** and ****** untill her vehicle could be brought back up front at which time she ****** out the employee that had brought her vehicle around. There where a few witnesses to this event and would be willing to attest to what happened. At this point we will be refusing any work from her.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

      Sincerely,

      ********* *******
I ****** excuse me 4-6 times s d there was no one answering, hence why I went to the back . He wasn’t short handed. He had a huge shop with two other employees but only one other vehicle in the shop. The owner and some young girl was working on my car to which she was **** **** to me. Especially outside when she brought my car around the the front of the store . She was alone out side at this point. As this point I do believe he installed a used coil, pack to my car since the cost was so cheap for the part ( 187) as they are quoted higher in price. I was repeatedly that I should not have taken my car there as they are terrible there and *** ****** ***. ******* ** *** ** *** ******* *** ** **** ** *** ***** ******** ** ***** ******** I don’t believe they are legitimate **** ***** * **** ***** * *** **** * ********* ** **** ***** ** ***** ***** The part was faulty and I’m still without a vehicle today. As far as service, I wouldn’t bring my car back there if it was the last shop opened. He has ************ people working there who I doubt are even certified. 3 mechanics and all three of them couldn’t figure out the problem to my car, and that is why I pulled my car out of there. .  I would like to see proof these people are certified with their I.d to match certificates cause their not certified at all.
I want a refund for faulty parts that were put into my car . I’ve submitted my receipt. I barley mage it to the highway and I had to call a tow truck after keeping my car overnight . I will continue to spread the news about SS automotive

Parts were ordered from ****** ** ****** brand new, gave customer good price on parts.
not sure where she looked for pricing but it was way too high. As I had sent the invoice to BBB
already anyone can see they were indeed new parts and as stated to customer a little further diagnosis was needed
as there was an underlying secondary problem that couldn't be determined until the faulty part was replace.

      Thank You

I am not sure what I am suppose to be clarifying here but I am not happy . I am the customer and I seem to be the only one suffering. And suffering financially.. SS automotive out in a new genitive coil into my car and it was obviously faulty as my car is now at ****** in Fsj, bc and they are installing yet another brand new ignition coil. So this is the second new ignition coil that I have boughten for my car in less then 7 days . This is exhausting. I am out 263.00 with SS automotive and then whatever my bill will be with ******. I would just like my refund from this SS automotive . He can do a wrote with his “comapmy” as I’m sure he already did

As was stated to the customer further diagnostics were needed and where declined, if it did turn out the part was faulty out of the box we would have had it warrantied and replaced at no cost to the customer, she declined any further action on our part and would not allow us the time to determine what the next step was or if the part was faulty out of the box or if there was another underlying problem. Like I said if it was the part that was faulty our supplier would have replaced it for us and the car would be running, but by not allowing us to figure it out at the time we have no way of knowing and will need to see what the other shop has to say of the problem.
