I hired GRVD to repair a rooftop deck that was causing a minor leak in my kitchen. After inspection, GVRD suggested a full surface replacement. After it was done, the first issue was that they chose a surface material that could not be walked on and I had to buy decking tiles to cover it. Before installing the tiles, I saw that the rain water was seriously pooling, indicating that the deck surface was not properly sloped. Chris told me not to worry about the pooling. Next rainy season, the leaking in the kitchen came with a vengeance - down the windows and in several new places in the ceiling. Chris sends someone over to look at it and, right away, he emphatically stated that the surface job GVRD had done was not done properly. Trying to avoid fixing the improperly done job, Chris shows up one night to put some putty on the membrane edges. Does half of it, runs out of light and leaves the other half to me. Next heavy rainy period, the kitchen leaking continues and by now there is serious ceiling damage. GVRD sends another guy over that installs flashing over the stucco which made no difference to the leaking at all. Chris then has some silicone caulking done on the flashing, still to no avail. All through this fiasco, Chris would often promise to send someone over and no one would show up. Meanwhile, I developed VERY serious damage in my kitchen ceiling. I eventually hired another firm to rip out what GVRD did (**** *** ** ****** *** **** ******** *** *** **** *********). This other firm was what I wanted GVRD to be: extremely professional, prompt with the whole project, always showing up when they said they would, cleaning up nicely after themselves, and doing a high quality job. They get 1 star only because I can't leave 0. Use GVRD at your peril.

Good Afternoon *** ****** Our company always stands by its workmanship and as some of the facts you stated are true some are false. I sent many of my guys over to look at the deck and did repairs, but never saw any issues with workmanship of installation of the torch on membrane we installed. The deck membrane from multiple inspections by myself and others was not found to have any lap issues from bleed outs or issues that would indicated the double layer would be leaking. We could only determine that the leak was from an internal drain or water was coming in via the wall or upper flat roof we sealed all wall sections with commercial grade MS Detail and added wall flashings incase rain was hitting stucco. As the owner of the company I take all complaints seriously and will do what ever it takes to make sure you and your family will be compensated. If it is found to be an issue caused by one of our installers. GVRD Roofing would like to see pictures of water under membrane after it was removed. We would also like to know where it was determined to be leaking from so we can determine fault. Our goal always is to make sure every customer is treated with respect and do unto others and you wish unto you. Having said that mistakes happen and in life and its what you do after that proves you're worth and trust. I hope to resolve this matter asap for the peace of mind of all parties. Let's move forward in this discussion and I know we can find a resolve to this very unfortunate event. I feel terrible that your family has had to go through this. So at this point we will wait for more information. Pictures will help understand what actually happened. Let's move quickly to resolve this and look forward to your feed back. Despite GVRD Roofing's claims that there were no issues with workmanship, there were, in fact, identified issues with the surface treatment. In addition to the surface not being properly sloped, pictures were provided to GVRD Roofing that clearly show faulty workmanship, particularly around the drains, and that were at least some of the cause of the damage to the interior of the house below the deck. These are empty words above...full responsibility for this work has NOT been accepted by GVRD Roofing and I have incurred significant expenses as a result.
