      On July 28, 2023 I visited two Shoppers Drug Mart locations in Halifax to purchase over $1,000 in Gas Gift Cards. One transaction was $500 and the other was $600. These were gifts for our staff. We have since learned that none of the gift cards work, they all have a $0 balance. This is not the first time this has happened to our organization when purchasing gift cards at a shoppers drug mart location. We have receipts including confirmation of activation. We visited the stores and asked for refunds and were told they don't provide refunds for gift cards. I asked to speak to a manager and was told to contact head office. I did that. My ticket was later closed with no explanation. At this point our charitable organization is out over $1,000 with no accountability from these stores. What we are seeking is to be contacted by both of these stores and offered a resolution.

      Good day,

      Our company policy is to direct customers to our 1-800 SHOPPERS customer service. Where the representative at the call center usually will re issue new gift cards, provided the customer sends forth receipts to show proof of purchase. I find it odd that they( the complaintive,) states that the file was closed  as we have never had any issue's with other customers that have gone through the process. I personally called our call center and unfortunately because I do not have a case number for this issue they were not able to look further into it for me. Having said that, the call center, stated that once the customer has contacted them they send an email in which the customer has 5 days to respond before the ticket is closed. The representative stated that they always resolve the customer issues providing they submit all required documents.

      I will personally call the customer and inform them that they can call the 1800 number again and they will be happy to start the process again.
