We are very unhappy with our experience with Hierarchy. The design and build contract clearly stipulated the requirements for change orders for any amounts over budget. We received no change orders during the entire build. We were only provided a revised budget which wasn't even correct towards the end of the build. The invoicing is done in a way that is impossible to line up wth the actual budget. We requested a full audit near the end of the build which gave us the transparency we should have had throughout the entire build, showing duplicate billing and overages in the budget of over 500K. It is unethical to not disclose overages to a client especially when are earning 15% PM fee. Almost 30 days after occupancy we had to reach out to Tarion ourselves only to find out our build had not yet been registered. We have had 3 water leaks, one of which has not been repaired and we have a glycol leak in the in floor heating system. Hierarchy simply asked us to accept the leak as is and shut off one of the loops to have a section of the basement without heated flooring which we paid for, this is not an acceptable solution. There are many incomplete and deficient items remaining, some of which HDD is now stating they do not want to complete at all. HDD is not making any effort to review our Tarion list with us and has not directly scheduled any deficiency work in 2 months. The only work being completed is by good honest sub trades who are reaching out to us directly. We have requested mediation to come to an agreement on the issues we have relating to the budget overages and have been ignored on the mediation request twice. He does not seem interested in making things right with us and it seems to be his way or the highway. We have paid some trades directly to do the right thing and not have them involved in this issue. We worked very hard to make this project a reality and build our dream home, only to be left in the most frustrating experience of our lives.

I think point form will be easier for anyone reading my response.-You continue to blast my name on every account you can find and run my name through the mud. you still owe the trades roughly $266 thousand dollars; you are being super unprofessional. Instead of having civil conversations to correct these final matters and invoicing. You stopped payment and thrust these garbage reviews online, blaming me for your financial shortfalls or misleading people to believe Im not dealing with the issues. Thats why our lawyers and Tarion are now our mediators, and the process is dragging out. -The glycol leak has been restricted. The name of the glycol is called *************- SAFE for that very reason, the propylene Glycol is no cause for concern in its current status. The **** reports indicate it is safe, Ive had the ministry of environment ensure there is no issue, Ive had an environmental engineering consultant on this and assured me there is no issue with a stamped report. Ive had a drinking water test completed with no issues. - The leak itself; the mechanical contractors took some investigation to determine the issue. 2 lines are currently dead lines and equate to less than 5% for the total basement slab heating. We can only speculate the reason for the leak, but we do not 100% know the reason for the leak, we can only assume why its leaking. A leak of any sort is not something we take lightly, and we can only attempt to remedy the issue. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. Our trades are highly regarded in the industry, and we expect nothing but professionalism and top notch work from them. But accidents happen if that is the case.- Ive had a mechanical engineering report that states the heating in the basement is not affected by the floor whatsoever. Any issue with hardwood will be rectified at no cost. These reports will be provided to Tarion for your review. We can discuss this further privately and come to a resolution.- In terms of contracts, you agreed to the contract increase and signed it in June. You stopped paying Invoices in October completely. The project was only just about finished boarding drywall with plenty of time to reduce cost. You selected everything in your 12,000ft2 home. - A large portion of the increase in the budget was for items you added, including a FINISHED BASEMENT !, smart home upgrade, upgraded plumbing fixtures, upgraded stairs. You picked all these upgrades, and could have removed them well before completing them, since they had not yet been completed upon signing of the updated budget.- Purchasing land that is completely bedrock also increased your budget on excavation and the septic system. You were CC'd on every email about your septic system and the issues the bedrock created. Impossible to forecast the fullhearted issue on a treed lot in the middle of nowhere.- We continued to complete minor work on your home while you lived there, not once did you ask for a walkthrough. You added all the green tape indicators for patchwork, and I fixed all those issues with the painters with a few extremely minor ones remaining. You gave the green light for the painters to conclude on the 3rd touch up visit. If you paid your invoices, I would have fixed these remaining small items, or have a painter come by out of my pocket for additional touch ups.-You home was registered with Tarion two weeks after we started excavation, I provided you with a Tarion Enrolment number to give to your mortgage lender. And yes, there was a delay in the deposit for Tarion, and its because you stopped paying your bills.-*********** (estimating software) was updated regularly, the comprehensive programs tell me when you were on the program, and it wasnt much. It was automatically set up to send you updates. And yes, I removed you from it this spring.- No trade wants to step foot on your property because you don't pay your invoices.

Let's recap where we are at now in this nightmare that you have placed us in. NO ONE is owed 266K - we paid numerous trades directly to complete the home and you are well aware of this but you continue to make false claims that 266K is owed which is slander. Why did we decide to pay trades direct - because we stopped trusting you! Our gut feeling to no longer trust you was 100% right because here is what has happened since I initially posted my review. 1. ****** case is now with their claims department where ****** will compensate us for 75 items that you FAILED to rectify from our 30 day list. 2. We have discovered close to 100K in duplicate / overbilling that is either intentional or just pure incompetence on your part - which one is it? 3. Another 280K of invoices that are questionable and numerous emails were sent to explain the validity of these invoices which you completely ignored - what are you hiding? 4. SEVERAL BUILDING CODE VIOLATIONS have been discovered via Expert and Engineer reports which shows your negligence and incompetence. 4. Our building permit application paperwork which you never provided us with shows that you specifically checked off NO ****** which leads us to believe you never had the intention to register us with ****** for our warranty. We were only registered after contacting ******. You should not be allowed to build homes! ****** **** NOT rectified - and no it is not 2 lines, it is 7 lines and your heating and cooling company would not even continue their investigation because they want nothing to do with you! The overages are on you - you created an original budget that included the basement, it's in black and white but due to your lack of knowledge/experience or negligence not sure which one it is or a combination of all 3 resulted in you misquoting so much in the budget and you did not obtain quotes up front from trades like you were supposed to. You flew by the seat of your pants through the build and when so many quotes came in higher then you budgeted you hid them from us! You knew we were on bedrock from day one but your lack of experience and knowledge resulted in your mistakes on misquoting so many things in the budget. You are the worst business and worst business person we have ever dealt with in our lives - you take zero accountability and zero responsibility for anything that has gone wrong and we will continue to pursue this matter legally and with the proper regulatory bodies as far as we need to so that there are repercussions for your negligence and incompetence. *** ***** ****** **** ****
