I entered a contract with AM at end of September 2023. Roof was to be done in 4-6 weeks, door and 2 windows 2-3 months. First they showed up with no notice in December and started pounding away on the roof. I rec'd a ****** **** card which I just rec'd and have not cashed for the inconvenience . I rec'd a call to come for the rest of the contract. It was to be a 2 day job. So far they have not shown up when they said they would and second of all I am not pleased with the caulking they have done, it's very messy, I expressed this to them. I called their project manager last Thursday and to date, no return call. The gentleman working on project admits he doesn't know what to do to complete the inside finishing of the new door and didn't know what finish he was to do on the inside of new windows. There is also bent cladding and one with a ripple in it. They have punched either staples or nails into the black cladding around the outside of door and now there are white marks which the worker doesn't know what he is supposed to do about it. They were to be here today the 26th of Feb and not heard from them, they are just pushing me aside and basically I am being ignored. I seriously regret hiring them and want the job finished and done properly as I don't seem to have any other choice but to continue on with them. VERY UPSET & DISAPPOINTED. ***********************

Two members of AM did come and we had an in depth discussion about all the issues and they have agreed to address these issues. We did find out that an electrician had to be brought in to my home to deal with a bit of an issue that would affect one of the issues they are addressing. The electrician came last Thursday and corrected the problem and I then sent an in depth email to **** (office manager) for one location of AM letting her know that all is ready for AM's associate to return and complete the work. They are supposed to come tomorrow Friday the 22nd of March to complete the work as long as the weather co-operates. I was asked to remove the complaint a couple of times by their project manager as he considers the problems are all resolved, but I said I wanted to make sure the job was completed properly so as soon as it is done I will definitely remove the complaint. It was not my intent to punish AM, but I wasn't getting anywhere with them and so I contacted BBB and sent in my complaint. Thank you. ***********************

The statement of work with AM stated the bathroom fan would be vented outdoors. We discovered this was not done upon renovation, and the bathroom fan was vented into the attic. We had to vent the fan properly and replace the moulded insulation.

      Hello *****,

As stated in your complaint during your renovations you came to find this mold in and around your attic space above your bathroom. You called into the office as documented on our end and we sent out a service tech to take a look. It was obvious to us that a b-vent was added through the roof deck as per our quote and a insulated hose was present hanging as per photo ****. So by the looks of things AM did fulfill its contractual agreement here. Now at this point with the ceiling being pulled down due to your renovations taking place it is very hard to say whether or not the hose was connected to the bathroom van properly and if anything would have taken place in the last 7 years to effect this connection the roof work was completed 7 years ago.
On another note we are not a mold remediation company and as per our contract we can not take responsibility for mold growth. We sprayed mold X as per our contract and this assist's with killing the mold spores that can grow over time, this was already very present in your attic space in 2016. Mold can be a tricky thing and if mold spurs are present they can grow in the harshest environments and its very common to see this around bathroom and kitchen areas due to the extra moisture content in these areas. If your attic is prone to creating mold a mold remediation company is the best course of action here as there are so many variables at play.
Furthermore I don't mind helping our customers out when help is needed. I would be more than happy to send some installer's out to replace a section of the roof deck and shingles to our roofing system if this is desired to replace the wood that appears to have discoloured.
I'm not sure why you are asking us to pay for a portion renovation etc that have already taken place, but as far as we are concerned we are at no fault here but are willing to help out if needed.
      Thank you,
      Respectfully

We bought our first and "forever home" in London in Apr. 2006, when my husband Edward, retired after 28 years in Canadian Air Force. Sitting on our veranda decorated at the moment for July 1st, or on the porch swing with family and friends spotting skunks and fireflies is a nightly activity. In Aug. 2020, we were relieved when AM Group of Companies in London replaced our well worn roof with a new one. Unfortunately, in Feb. 2021, we discovered water leaking from the ceiling in the hallway. When AM inspected it, they said it was caused by ice damage not covered by the roof 50 year warranty. They did offer to fix this, for a price which we are willing to pay. I am emailing you to report a problem we are having with getting a response from AM. Both my husband and I have left phone, email and written messages as well as hand-delivering a letter (I"ve enclosed ones dated Apr. 24/22 and May 23/22 as well as an email from AM) on May 24.22. AM's lack of response to any of these, makes us wonder if they might refuse to fix any future problems. We are fearful that if we found someone to do it, it would invalidate the warranty. We paid $26,954.64 for the roof. Thankfully, we have not had any leakage this past winter of 2021/2022. If you could assist us in getting the roof repaired before winter, we would be so grateful to be relieved of this worry.

      Here is our response:

AM Group does not take responsibility for ice damming as well as the fact there are solar panels on the roof we were not interested in chasing this issue. We originally did this roof through an insurance claim and never had or did warranty any ice damming. When this started we explained that was the issue and that there was nothing we could do to help. The persistence of the homeowner and then poor review is not the way to make us change our standpoint on ice damming and or working with solar panels. It's very unfortunate that it came down to this but it's out of our hands.

      Thank you
      Daniel
