Never again will I purchase a Hyundai product. I currently have a 2011 Elantra that runs perfect with 210k on it - excellent automobile! But when I purchased a 2017 Elantra LE 4-cyl Manual, ******* **** ** *** ** **** At 180k, it required a full cam replacement... apparently common with this era of Elantra due to the design of the cam gear. At 195k, it consistently threw misfire and crankshaft codes, only to find out it's now burning 1L of oil every 2k. I made regular oil changes, and my mechanic suggested ai contact Hyundai. So, brought my records to Hyundai to ask about options as I've heard (and they confirmed) that there are recalls and engine replacements available for this era of Elantra... one employee advised me that for 350$, they would tear down the engine and if the problems matched the well-known production issues, it would be replaced. Well... not mine. Upon speaking to their service desk, their advice was either a 1,000$ piston flush, "keep filling it with extra oil", or to "think about purchasing a new car". They also typed in the VIN and informed me it was a 6-cylinder... a base model 2.0L... before I had to correct them with service records of spark plug replacements and corroborated this information with a mechanic there. It concerns me GREATLY that their own internal VIN lookup pulls an incorrect engine spec; what other incorrect assumptions might they be making? In short, they weren't willing to help a Hyundai customer at all, despite these issues being known. Nice to see that Hyundai stands behind its products. I will never, ever purchase another ****-Hyundai automobile, because of both the clearly flawed production/QC of these vehicles and the unhelpful and ******** ********* customer service I received. ****** **** **** ********** *** **** *********** ****** ****** *********** ** *********** ******... consider customer service and satisfaction carefully.Review from Ravi S

I would love to add the fact that my 2017 Hyundai Santa Fee Sport was burning 1 liter of oil per 1000 kilometer. I went all the way to Hyundai Canada and was told that this is acceptable as per the Ministry of Transportation standard. Maybe in the 1920s for a model * **** burning a liter of oil. I did two oil consumption test with 4 test. my car burnt 3.9 L for both test and they said it did not meet the 4 L criteria. So now I am stuck with a car where I fill up every week with a tank of gas and I pour 1 L of oil into my engine. Great job Hyundai *** ******** ** **************. Must be great for the environment. * ** ********* ******* ******** * **** *** ** *** * ******* **** **** ******** They have the worst Customer support. **** *** ************* *** **** **** *** **** ***** *** *** ********** ********Review from Jocelyn R

I would like to know why Hyundai Canada does not support thier clients after the ink is dry? My 2024 Hyundai Kona collided with a coyote on Aug. 13.2004 and is awaiting repair. Two parts have been on back order with no confirmed delivery date in site. I have exhausted my rental allowance ( $ 1,600 /30 days) through ****** insurance and am now left without a vehicle. I am not in a position to pay for a rental car out of pocket. This means I cannot get to work. Why does Hyundai not feel responsible for providing compensation while I wait on a part that is not being provided within a timely manner?Review from bryan b

Very unpleased with This company. TC Recall about a engine. Mine blew up and they will not cover it as its a couple months over the cutoff period.. which is 10 years old. If the engine blew up last year it would of been fine! **** **** ******Review from Christopher G

My 2013 Elantra Manual has 158,000km on it. The steering wheel started peeling at 80,000km. The interior fake chrome started flaking off the climate knobs and shifter knob at 100,000km. The Air Conditioning Compressor failed at 120,000km. 2 of 4 ignition coils failed at 140,000km. Now we just brought it home from the mechanic who informed me the SUBFRAME IS ROTTED and the car is no longer safe to drive. There is an open recall (C0525) for underbody corrosion however Hyundai has informed me that was for brake lines. What an absolute piece of junk. If this is the quality I can expect from Hyundai you can be assured myself, ** ******* ** ******** *** ** ********** **** ** ******* ****** against EVER buying a Hyundai vehicle. I will never recommend Hyundai to anyone. Do not expect to buy a Hyundai and have it last very long. * ****** **** ***** * ****** ******* **** *** ********* * ***** ** * ******* What a waste of money this car was.Review from Gerry L

I purchased a new 2023 Hyundai Tucson Ultimate hybrid and purchased all the protection packages they offered. A few months into ownership (Feb 2024) I was rear ended while parked:with 6000kms on it. The back bumper and rear hatch were destroyed. Hyundai sends me to their chosen auto repair shop. Once the quote was done they inform me it will be over a year before they could get a new back bumper and hatch. When I said that's just crazy they really be glad your SUV is still drivable as our policy is to turn away any customer with a non drivable Hyundai vehicle. Not wanting to drive a brand new smashed up vehicle I attempted to trade it in for a new one. The Hyundai dealership refused to take the damaged vehicle in on trade even when I offered to pay for all the repairs.Review from Eleanor R

2015 Hyundai Tucson. I had my vehicle in for the sixth time since November 2021 in regard to a knock sensor having to be reset and replaced. I know there has been recalls on the engines, however, on the sixth time of taking my vehicle to ********* Hyundai, I was told by the service that Hyundai Canada will not replace the engine because my tucson will be nine years old in August and I have too many kilometres for a Hyundai. (warranty was changed to 200,000 K and 10 year warranty.) I only had 124 416 kms when I brought it on May 27. And now they are saying other things are wrong with it and it could cost me $10,000 to fix. > However each time the knock sensor has been reset the vehicle seems to work fine so to say that is not the issue is not right > > To say, I am disappointed with Hyundai is an understatement. I just wish when I purchased the vehicle that the sales person had advised me that the vehicle will not go over 125,000 km before I need to get another vehicle. I do not feel safe driving on the highway with the vehicle. I have a vehicle yet Hyundai will do nothing to fix the issue,This is actually the second Tucson that I have purchased that’s there’s been an issue with the engine. My first Tucson I purchased was a 2007. I believe I purchased it in 2012 or 2013 > The same thing happened with this Tucson in August 2015 i think I had just over 150000 k. I was told it was gonna be over $6000 to fix the vehicle and even though I had purchased the extended warranty, it was not covered and ended up with the purchasing a new Tucson.Review from Mary K

Bought a new 2024 Kona few months back, received a recall before first service, letter indicates '... this issue could increase the risk of a crash...' and instructed contacting dealership to have the valve replaced. Dealership said they don't have the part and have to order, no specific timeline given. I asked what to do meanwhile, they said nothing they can do, if I have more safety concern call Hyundai Canada. I being afraid of risk of crash (as indicated in the letter) contacted Hyundai Canada, so surprised by their lack of responsibility and impolite behavior, they asked me to contact dealership again and ask for inspection, I told them one passing the buck to the other, and if he can contact them, he hung up. so in essence, Hyundai warned me of a risk in the newly sold vehicle of theirs(because they are obligated to do that), but didn't take enough action to fix the risk and just wished me luck! * ***** ** **** *** ****** ******* **** **** ** **** * ****** *** **** *** **** **** ****** ** ***** **** **** ******* ******** *** ******* ** ******** ** **** ********* ** ** **** ******Review from Saad S
