      I was approached because I had filled out an information form on social media, for further information on rebates for energy systems. The caller informed me of rebates I was eligible for and they could come for an assessment the next day. Two men showed up - very nice, very polite, seemingly very knowledgeable. They asked to see our energy bills, looked at our A/C and furnace, and showed us some calculations on how much we could save. We were impressed, and asked if we would qualify. A call was made. We then got an immediate reply that we had been approved and they could come install the next day, sign here for a 20-year-contract of $27,500, at 3.99%. For a heat pump and tankless water. It became immediately clear this was a sophisticated sales pitch. There is no grant, but their own in-house rebate - aka, sale price. When pressed for details on the source of the grant, first they said it was some Green Solutions grant but when I searched the web for this, I only found an unfinished website. I had to push hard for emails from head office and written details of the offer. There was no information on the brand or model of heatpump, no mention of higher energy use for tankless water heaters, and combined with the immediacy of the install offer ("we won't be in your area next week, it's now or never") and the lack of transparency in the financials, ** ** ***** **** *** ****** ********* ** *** ****** ********** ** ******* **** ****** *** ********* ********** **** *** ******* ****** ** *** **** ******** ****. I am careful and do my research usually, and was almost taken in. It's very *****, this approach. Be very careful.

      The sales representative that cane to our home made ********** and ********** claims regarding potential savings, rebate amount, the quality of the equipment and the potential for a buyout after a 12 month period. Subsequently our debt was sold to a finance company and neither they nor Ontario Smart Energy sought to resolve our complaint regarding the blatant ***** perpetuated by the sales representative. The promised savings have yet to appear and all that has happened is a large debt which was not required and low grade equipment that they have priced at 3 times or more than it's worth. There is nothing Smart about dealing with Ontario Smart Energy!

We take your concerns seriously and have conducted a thorough review of our records and communications with you. Our records indicate multiple conversations with you, during which we provided clear explanations regarding the terms and conditions of your agreement. You signed an invoice and a loan agreement detailing the total amount of $24,500, along with information regarding our finance company. All these details were also outline during a recorded verification call. We have consistently been transparent about the terms and conditions along with pricing etc. As part of our process, you were given a free assessment and quote, and you subsequently requested the installation. The terms of your contract provided a cooling-off period to cancel, which was not exercised. As a result, we are unable to make changes to your account at this time. You have stated on several occasions that you have written documentation to support your allegations. However, despite our requests, we have not received these documents. At this point we are not able to make any changes to your account, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are here to assist you however we can.

      3 times expensive than.market. terrible service. Please be carefull. They only doing Business. I will switch to previous system. ** *** ******* ***** ******** **** ** ***** the old system is definitely better than the system they are talking about, *** **** ********** ****** **, the machines are very poor quality and give terrible service.

      Had a heat pump and water heater installed last November. Was told that I would receive a $7,000.00 rebate. still have not received it. Called Ontario Smart energy several times and was told the auditor was looking after it. Now when I call to ask about my rebate, there is no response from this company

      From start to finish, everything they said was an absolute ***, this company ***** on people with misinformation. 1) savings of 50-70% a month on my energy bill, over all it went up 15%. 2) rebate within 3-4 months and I have text confirmation that I had zero set up on my end to receive the money. 4 months later I called and they stated I haven’t started the process yet and it would take 6-9 months now. The sales rep promised it would be $10,000 rebate, not up to, he had an app that showed it would be 10,000 minimum. But I’m hearing it will be “up to” with a very little chance it will be even close to the agreed upon amount. Salesman ****, and when I complained they only said, sorry he no longer works here. 3. I was told I was locked in at 240 months at 3.99% interest, after a year I was just notified it’s going up to 11.99%. The sales man wrote down my contact with all the key points on his **** contract notes, however they weren’t included in the contract and had me sign a different document. EXTREMELY *****, they continuously **** to me to get the sale. 4. The average price of the work was quoted to me at $16,000, they quoted $25,000. I told him that, but he promised the $10,000 rebate actually made it a net positive for me, however we now know the chance of getting a full rebate is slim to none. **** *** **** **** **** ********

We offer a complimentary assessment where a technician will visit your property to inspect your units and verify that everything is functioning correctly and settings are optimized for maximum savings. Concerning the rebate process, we handle the payment and coordination of your audits. Once this process is completed, your rebate is managed by Enbridge, who is responsible for issuing the cheque. We do not send out these cheques and unfortunately do not have control over the timeframe.       Yes, you did do an over the phone consultation before the installation. However, you asked if the salesman “promised anything” outside the contract. Yet, he **** to me about what was in the contact, so to the best of knowledge, he didn’t promise anything outside the contact, rather he just misinformed me.       We recently had a new Furnace and Heat Pump installed as part of the package from Ontario Smart Energy. The installers of the heat pump were unable to get the system to function optimally. We contacted the company and Mahmoud was sent to address our concerns. When he got to my house he immediately diagnosed the problem. He was very professional and quite knowledgeable and assured us that the problem would be taken care of. Because it was around Christmas he was patient and flexible to find a time that would be convenient for both of us so he could get the work done. on the scheduled he came an spent almost the entire day getting the system up running efficiently. his dedication and pride in his work was obvious. He did what he had to do to ensure that we were satisfied customers

      So I was looking into a more efficient energy system for my house. They said they have. solution. And offered an 8400 rebate. I asked if the rebate would cover most of the cost of the unit. They said yes. And then gave me rundown of the system. Yet at no point told me how much the unit costed and wanted me to sign and form. Only then I said why would sign if you haven’t told me how much. It was like 24000. The sale pitch was sketchy and very convoluted. I’m sure they hooked a few people if not elders. Not happy with them and they took my license info and such.
