I hired Nanny Lane to provide payroll and tax services for a part-time nanny from March-October 2022, and paid $50/month for their services. They deducted Ohio payroll taxes from my bank account and indicated on my nanny's pay stub that these were paid. In October 2022 I received a notice from the state of Ohio that I had failed to file unemployment payments for the 2nd quarter of 2022. I forwarded this to the company and they said they would share it with the payroll department and address it. I continued to get quarterly notices and reached out to the company until December of 2023, at which point I asked my personal accountant to help me resolve it. She spoke to the state office and determined that only the first payroll payment of $32 had ever been received by the state, despite another $164 being deducted from my account and reported on my nanny's pay stub.Initial Complaint

I communicated with Nanny Lane regarding needing to cancel my account and completed an account closure form on December 2, 2022. I was still billed for January and February 2023 (auto-renewal). December 1 - emailed Nanny Lane to inform about last payroll date and closing account December 2 - Nanny Lane ***** ******** replied acknowledging this and asked me to complete a ****** form title "Account Closure Form" December 2 - The form was completed and submitted, and I emailed to confirm form submission December 2 - Nanny Lane ***** ******** acknowledged my email and informed me nothing else was needed on my end in order to close the account February 24 - emailed Nanny Lane saying I was still getting billed for Nanny Lane services February 24 - received email stating: "Unfortunately, we have no records of you cancelling your membership. An email confirmation is sent once you cancel your services." and "we are not able to issue you a refund for your purchase."Customer response

I hired a nanny in 2021 for about 7 months. We used Nanny Lane for payroll and to collect taxes. They collected taxes on my behalf and supposedly sent this to the IRS. After completing my taxes last year, I am now receiving a tax bill even though I already paid it through Nanny Lane. I contacted Nanny Lane to resolve and the first email response was prompt and they said they will look into it. It’s been over a month later and I have emailed them 4 times to follow up. I paid for services for multiple months, had issues non-stop with the nanny payroll services, taxes haven’t been filed appropriately, have received no documentation on taxes I’ve paid per paystubs, and will not respond to many many emails.Initial Complaint

Q1 2022 I paid this service over $50/month to handle payroll and file taxes for becoming an employer to a nanny. All paystubs and my bank account show I paid my employer taxes so they took money out from my account, but I found out they did not file my taxes. I am receiving late notices with penalties from state and government regarding these. They have registered an email address that I do not have access to for my tax IDs so I am unable to login to view my own employer taxes that are affiliated with my social security number and IDs, this also means I am unable to login or unable to reset any of my profile information as these government organizations will not correct my email address. This also means I am unable to make payments on behalf of myself. I have been emailing them to correct this issue and to confirm all year end documents since July 2022 with no response. Their parent company ********* continues to say they can't help and they don't have access to their database. No phone number or any way of speaking with someone directly is an option with these companies.
