To Whom it may concern I, ****** *******, had to travel to Regina, SK to see Dr. While there leaving to return home the car started to give us some problem heating up. Pulling to the side of road, car shut off. Try starting, could not start. I open the hood to see what could be wrong, all I got was hot air from car. There was no coolent on the motor, there's always coolent on motor with fan blowing back on inside of car. I lifted the oil dip stick and I could tell there was collent in the oil. I did not see any coolent on the motor on any place under the hood. Called for towtruck to pick us up to take it to a shop - he recommended to go to Crestview Dodge Jeep Ram. Met **** *****, later ***** Both **** and **** told me it was my fault and I would have to pay for a new motor. I said no it was under warranty. Then they told me they would check out the service work. Finally they came up with service work so then they said it was covered so they ordered a new motor. Put eveything back in order they had to remove front bumper to get rad out, remove rad, remove old motor. After install motor, they install rad and bumper, testing of motor, they say they found a leak in rad. **** call to tell me about it. I still think it is covered by warranty. **** start telling me if they run it through warranty the motor would become void and I would have to pay full amount for motor and rad. ** ***** ***** *** *** *** **** First price I got was about $******* Not to bad for price of a motor. During the conversation it came clear it would be aprox ******* dollars. Then they could not find a rad anywhere. My friend found 1 in Ont. Canada for aprox ****** online. The next day **** calls, they got 1. By the time to put in it would be around ******* dollars, a wheel alinement that he told me ****** deductible for the motor, the rest the rad. **** call when they could not find a rad. They were going to put a used one in first. I said ok. Next morning I called and said no, new rad. That day my friend found one on line, new rad for ****** dollars. Next morning **** called and said it was all fixed.Business response

This vehicle was towed in off the highway with a stall out after being alerted to the driver as it overheated or running hot. Immediately we observed the vehicle to have NO coolant in the system in which we believed it had overheated severely upon arrival. Customer had no reference as to smelling or seeing any coolant from his vehicle or any short coming as to how such a catastrophic failure would have happened. After having the customer supply maintenance records and sign off on a customer pay diagnosis in which we removed engine from underneath vehicle from chassis(no removal of radiators) as to disable the engine to have had a catastrophic overheating failure requiring a complete engine in which the manufacture warrantied as we had no conclusive proof as to what the root cause was for coolant loss as the motor had basically melted internally. After getting approval from the manufacture to authorize installation of a new engine from the under side and reattaching the coolant hoses, when then able to find the root issue with the vehicles coolant concern. There was damage to cooler causing a pin hole leak in which compromised the cooling system. We had contacted Mr. ******* as to are finding and let him know that a "damaged" cooler was not covered by a manufacture warranty and the cost associated with repair as his responsibility. We were very transparent as to sending him pictures of the damaged component in which left him in Regina after an eye appointment unfortunately. Customer had the damaged component returned with his vehicle after replacement as to have any questionable doubt clarified as to are repair procedure. Labor and parts to replace transmission cooler assembly are 100% the responsibility of the owner.
