In Alberta, BBB has been a beacon of trust and integrity in the community for over 70 years. • BBB educates consumers and businesses with consumer advice and business tips on a variety of subjects.

  • Scams targeting students: As students gain independence in university & college, it may take a while to understand how Canadian organizations and government agencies work and contact residents. When you lack experience and haven't heard of or been exposed to fraud before, it sets up the perfect opportunity for scammers to strike. In this presentation young adults will learn about the top scams affecting students, how scammers target students, provide tips & resources on how to avoid them, and answer any questions.
  • Scams targeting seniors: Scams against older adults generate billions of dollars each year for criminals. Older adults are often targets of scam artists because they generally are more trusting of others and perceived to be easier to persuade. Knowledge is the best defense against these crimes. This program will not only teach you how to spot and avoid scams, but also offers resources that you can turn to if you do become a victim.
  • Scams targeting Canadians: Scammers will go to great lengths to squeeze event a nickel or dime from you. Leveraging the data we've collected for our annual Canadian Risk Report, will share the top riskiest scams affecting Canadians, how they target consumers, provide tips & resources on to avoid these scams, and answer any questions you may have.
