We had an annual maintenance contract with Aire Serv Birmingham. They did a cleaning service in the spring of this year and reported the whole unit need be replaced and offered a new unit quoted costs more than 10K, but we did not notice any performance issues of our unit. After half year our unit still working without any issues. Cooling well in the summer and heating well in the winter. We called back the company and cancelled the upcoming maintenance services and explained the reason as the service before was not a good experience. They apologized and promised full refund for this year service and an extra two years free maintenance. Due to the bad experience we had, we did not trust them to do more service on our units and accepted only the refund. But the refund never arrive. Called them back a few times, they said they will check the status and got back with me. But they never called me back. Called again today to check, they said they did not offer any refund promise, only said to send a supervisor to check the unit and two more years free contract. The service the company did in spring is a fraud trying to sell their units and the promise made after for the refund is not honored. While an HVAC system may be heating and cooling your home properly, there are many things that could be going wrong internally. Your unit was leaking R-22 refrigerant and was extremely rusty, which can cause damage overtime. If you would like to talk about things further, please call our office at XXX-XXX-XXXX. The unit we have is working properly, why I need replace it to prevent further damage to the unit? The explanation makes no sense. No word about the refund either, which they promised on the phone. We do not trust they send someone again to have hands on our unit.
