This transaction took place 7/08/2023 at Bankstons motor homes. We purchased a 2018 used 5th wheel camper for my fiance and I to live in full time. The purchase amount was $54,995.00 and we also purchased a 5year extended warranty for an additional $5,995.00. We were promised that since we were not going to have a hauling truck that the warranty would include having a technician from the Bankston Motor Homes located in ******* AL. (Like 20minutes from our area) to come out and repair whatever needed repaired. Additionally, we were told they would perform a thorough walk through and inspection to make sure nothing needed repairing prior to the mobile home leaving the lot. I told the salesman the door inside was absolutely destroyed and nonfunctional and I would like it replaced before we finalize everything. He ensured that it would be replaced prior to signing. The day we went to sign off on everything we drove 1hour and 40 minutes to ********** and as we pulled in the parking lot the salesman called to notify us that the door they had ordered had not come in yet. He promised to have the door sent to the Gadsden store and when it did arrive a Gadsden technician would come install it. Several weeks pass and we had called the original salesman as well as the Gadsden store multiple times and the door had not come in. We, then, noticed our washer hookup was leaking and called to ask if they could arrange for someone to come out and take a look at it. After calling the Gadsden Bankston motor homes several times each month we finally got a call in September that they were coming to replace the door. The door gets here and its the wrong door. Several months later( Dec. 2023) they called and said the door was in and to our surprise the door was the wrong size again(Im pretty sure it was the exact same door they brought out to begin with). Now every month weve called trying to get an answer on our door and washer hookups and still no resolution. No answer as of May 2024Business response

People thought Camping World was bad... Bankston well surpassed CW with the extreme level of none customer service. We had been in touch with our sale rep for weeks on the unit we wanted to purchase. We finally sold our current unit privately, scheduled an appt to come view & purchase the new ** at the Bankston ********** location in Aug. We had a specific appt time of 10am to begin our walkthrough. I informed our rep we wanted to come a few min early to do our paperwork and look at the unit in person to ensure there was no issues or damages before we signed (we had not seen the unit in person as we were not local) I have seen this same ************ in person for over a year & half as we had made the decision this was the exact unit we wanted - We arrived at 9:30am to find the ** had just begun the prep work of cleaning the inside and outside. This was odd to me considering we had an early appt. Upon looking over the ** there was a tech cleaning the outside and smoking a cigarette with the ** door open so cigarette smoke was going inside the unit... Unprofessional and irritating as I cannot stand the smell of smoke. Looking through the ****** was noted there was an imperfection in the subfloor of the flooring (a dip in the floor). Having a bad experience previously with a different unit, I brought this to the dealers attention, they were very quick to diagnose and get ahold of thor and get a certified letter to notate it is not a rot in the subfloor but just an imperfection. We then went in did our paperwork to purchase the unit. Took about an hour. The unit was still not ready for the walk through. They told us to grab lunch and come back. We came back at 12:30 and unit was still not ready. We waited until 3:30pm and the unit was FINALLY ready for the walk through. Remainder of review in photoBusiness response

We bought a new motorhome from Bankston Motor Homes in ************* 6/8/2020 for a CAT response vehicle for our business, Advanced **************** **** We also bought an extended warranty for $3195 that is refundable in part if we cancelled before ****** miles or until 6/8/2024. We traded this motorhome in on 4/28/23 with only ***** miles on it and finally received the cancellation paperwork from Bankston on 5/23/23 after many attempts to get it. I mailed it in and the warranty company cancelled our contract. I called First Extended Warranty a month later and they informed me that contract was cancelled effective 5/23/23 and the refund check should have come from Bankston Motor Homes. I have made several attempts by email, (5/23/23, 5/26/23, 6/7/23, 8/16/23, 9/14/23, 9/19/23) phone and chat (9/14/23), which also included going by the office in ************* 9/13/23 to receive our refund. On that trip, we were given another paper to send in to a totally different company which later replied that it was not their contract. I am not sure how much the refund should be because he failed to enter that on our paperwork, but it should be a prorated amount for the remainder of our contract. I have tried to get in touch with a manager and no one will give me that information. We are being totally ignored and not sure what to do at this point. It has been 4 months, and we are not getting anywhere with them. I have all of the emails saved if needed. I do not recommend buying from Bankston in **********. We traded that motorhome in because of the horrible service when we needed repairs and went with another RV dealership.Business response

9-25-2023I have spoken to this lady personally and apologized, she knows that we have a check being sent to her by tomorrow at the latest. I believe this would be taken care of as of now. If you need anything further please let me know.

I did speak to *************** on the day the complaint was filed and he said a refund check was being issued and would be mailed to our address. I called him on 10/4/2023 to let him know that the check had not been received and he said he would check on it. He said that the mail may be running slow. As of 10/11/2023 we have not received this check so there has been no resolution for this complaint. I would think that if it was in fact mailed, it should have been here by now.Customer response

February 2/17 I purchased a new 2022 Keystone Sprinter 35bh for ******. I have used the ** 3 times and 2 of the times I have had major issues(water leak, slideout cable break). Since buying the **, Bankston has had the ** more than I have waiting on warranty repair. I informed them I had a trip scheduled the week of June 19th. For 8 weeks I have been getting the run around and never get a follow up call as promised. I have called weekly and story is parts on order. When I purchased the unit the sales rep assured me if any issues they would prioritize me if I would buy a unit from them. I have had anything but priority and was told I was luck they were working me in on a brand-new unit! I have asked to speak with owner they will not connect me or provide information. I have reached out to sales rep and he has not returned my call. I have paid for a 2week ** trip to ******** and through *********. As of today they basically treat me as they dont care and not their problem. Looking for the unit returned fully functional by June 19th. So far I have spent 2k on booking ** sites and additional on fishing charters.Business response

My husband and I purchased a brand new camper . They let the camper leave without the refrigerator working, the tech saw it wasnt working properly during a walkthrough. After taking the camper out to camp we noticed the camper was leaking. We took the camper to be repaired. It took way over a month for the repair and after getting it back on June 1 and looking at the camper and getting to inspection of repairs, we noticed that they are not fixed 100% . Now my camper will need to be repaired again . At this point Bankston motor homes has had my camper more than me .Business response

Me and my husband was trying to get a camper they took a down payment before we even got approved that was November 19 by Wednesday November 23 we knew we couldnt get it. We were told to pick up our check Monday. My husband called and they said we sent it in the mail Friday November 25. We waited 5 days didnt get it called them back. My husband talked to our sales rep ****** and he said we dont owe you money. So I called and they said wait till Friday December 2 and if its not there call back. Called back Saturday December 3rd and they said the check cutters arent here will be here Monday. Called back Monday and they said to call back Tuesday and they would re write the check. Called back today the 6th and getting no kind of answers just oh we will call you back. This needs to be taken care of and the check be able to be picked up from the location like we were told would happen.Business response

Picked up this class A motorhome on November 11, 2022 from Bankston on *********************. We have rented the unit before so we are very familiar with it. On November 12 in South ******* on our way to Key West, while getting gas, we noticed balled rear tires and all six tires where well below legal limits. We called Bankston management at that time and we told: "we hope you make it ok, call if you have a problem" and that was it. Upon our arrival to our destination in Key West, Bankston insisted we interrupt our vacation and drive to ***** for tire replacement. After numerous back and forth with them, a tire company came on site and changed all 6 tires. The tire company was shocked to see exposed radial belt on front tires and said our lives were put in danger. The tire company submitted pictures to Bankston. We were scared the entire trip down to Key West and the Bankston rental manager blew us of completely. We need a 50% reduction in our rental cost.Business response

Here is the late4st email describing the issues: 5 weeks have turned into 2 full months. This is getting very serious. Can you please tell me why this is STILL pending after this long? If I were to attempt to sell this unit because of your preferred way of doing business, I would lose on the transaction as a direct result of your inability to provide as promised. I need an update from you sir not ***** nor ****. Without an update today I will begin the pain staking process of correcting this mistake on your part and seek compensation for the repairs. To refresh your memory:I was guaranteed everything would be corrected including a loose area of the front awning and the LED lights in the outside kitchen awning extension. The water heater was replaced but not very well and they left a huge mess on the exterior finish. Whats more when I got the unit home it was full of stagnant water in the fresh tank and full of sewage in the black tank. I expect you should eventually correct this issue. We purchased a Jayco Precept motorhome from a different dealer and Bankston Motor Homes were recommended from another RV dealership so we took it for repairs. The Power converter went out last winter and caused all kinds of problems. I called Bankstons in ******* to tell them my problems and **** the service manager said it was a good thing to call ahead so he could order parts. Carried the motor home to Bankstons 4/7/22. After 8 1/2 weeks still dont have it back. They said they were having trouble getting parts. Its now June 7th and my motor home is at another shop working on the generator. I called last Thursday and talked to one of the service reps they said generator was not repaired. I told the service rep if generator gets repaired I could only come Saturday morning to pick it up. Called back Friday at 4:25 to check on motor home status and the operator said the service department closes at 4:30. Called 1st thing Monday to check on status and **** who has been on vacation and said they had picked up motorhome for me to pickup Saturday. I asked if generator was repaired and they said it was not. I told them I couldnt use it without generator. They told me all week last week I would have it back before the weekend. Saturday I had to cancel camping reservations in ******* starting today (6/6/2022) and they have a 14 day no refund cancellation policy ($400+). Talked to generator shop and he will get me going ASAP. My biggest complaint is Bankstons motorhome wouldnt update me wouldnt call me back and miscommunication. 2 months to repair after I called in ******* is ridiculesBusiness response

We purchased a 2017 Motorhome and service warranty with Bankston. After 3 visits and them keeping the Motorhome for 9 months and them wrecking our Motorhome the problem is still not fixed. The awning is still not working and we have been told it needs to be replaced. They will not return a call or a text. We need help in getting this problem corrected. They have told us it will be October before they can look at it and the warranty will be expired.Business response
