Order a piece of countertop for our guest bathroom. The selected piece was a remnant piece in the stone yard. Took over a month to get the piece installed even thought they had it one site. We approved the job per their procedures and documents that were sent to us but we communicated our concerns that the layout they sent did not have the cutout for the faucet. They advised us it would be cut on site and centered. So the install date arrives. The two installers never once approach me(the homeowner) for anything. I had two other contractors working onsite that let them in, but they never asked me for anything. I was working in my office. They installed the countertop and cut the hole for the faucet which is clearly not centered. They also scratched the bottom of the brand new base cabinet with a 2x4 they used to prop up the sink. I wasnt even aware they had completed the install and left until after the fact. I did not sign off on any work they completed. My wife emailed them with concerns regarding the faucet hole and scratches to the cabinet. A manager called her back and the conversation started out very nice. He was very concerned and started to other to have someone come out to look at it but once he realized that we were not using them for the kitchen countertops everything changed. It went from one excuse to another. They cant help that some jobs the sink is different and that the measurement for the faucet is off. He seemed more focused on it would have been a better experience if we were doing the kitchen as well and had no interest in helping us at that point. We were willing to work with them but the fact that he changed tune so quickly after the kitchen wasnt a job they were handling really disturbed us. He stated we should be happy we got such a good deal on the countertop. Conversation ended with no help or other of any kind from him to rectify the situation.

Customer did not fulfill their contract with completing kitchen which is the only reason they received the vanity at a lower cost.  Pricing of this countertop was reduced to an extremely low cost due to the kitchen being included in with the installation. After vanity install customer decided to go elsewhere for the kitchen even though pricing was already based on both rooms being installed. Vanity faucet is centered in the middle of the sink, the top and bottom of the faucet not being equal is a plumbing situation and not a defect in the integrity of the installation of the vanity top. Scratches in the bottom is minor and incidental damage that is discussed with all customers as this is a construction project and minor incidental damages should be expected during an installation.  Customer was expecting to get money off of an already discounted top.

This is a refiling of a complaint per your letter dated March 18, 2022, saying the initial complaint was lost due to a glitch. Stone Interiors was contracted thru ***** to install granite kitchen counter tops and replace a sink. They installed the wrong sink and had to recut the granite top. The hole they recut was offset by 0.5-inches in a 30-inch-wide sink. Furthermore, the workers sheard off the plumbing install the wall and placed the broken pieces back so it did not appear broker. This cost an additional $800.00 for repairs. *****, who contracted Stone Interiors said they would pay for the repairs; however, this would not be necessary if Stone Interiors had competent workers and a professional work ethic. Future consumers should be made aware of Stone Interiors lack of professional ism, and ***** Corps should be reimbursed by stone interiors for their troubles.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/03/24) */ Stone Interiors and Lowes have a partnership and the issue was resolved and compensated. Customer signed off on the installation of the sink to be undermount prior o material fabrication, as the contract stated and the specification of his own personal sink that customer purchased and had onsite at measure and install. Customer was not happy with the undermount stating he wanted a drop in sink, Stone Interiors gave an additional warranty for the sink cutout since customer was worried about the sink falling due to his personal opinion with undermount sinks not due to the quality of install. Customer accepted installation and signed all documents stating install was complete to his satisfaction. Mr. **** called at a later time and changed his mind and wanted his sink to be top mounted. Stone Interiors returned and cut only the countertop as requested at no additional cost in the interest to satisfy the customer. Our crew did not cut or modify any of the plumbing. Stone Interiors documents all installs with photos and will gladly present these photos as evidence plumbing was not modified Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/03/24) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I did not sign off on the initial installation of the undermount sink as that was not what I had ordered. I made my objections know to Lowes and Stone Interiors the same day. I did sign off on the 2nd installation as that was before I was aware that stone interiors had deliberately concealed the fact they had sheared off the plumbing. Lowes has stepped up and assumed responsibility as they had contracted stone int. and reimbursed me for the repairs. Furthermore, Lowes is reviewing its vetting process on its contractors I am hoping this review will be posted so other potential customers will think twice before hiring this firm.
