3/9/24-*************************, owner of Gas Monkey, LLC, provided a quote to run new lines to a tankless water heater and gas fireplace. Also, to place a *********************** with 2 shut off valves on an existing line and the installation of necessary regulators as well as any cursory issues. 3/11/24-Gas Monkey ran new lines from existing meter to tankless water heater and fireplace gas insert. They augmented the furnace line near the appliance. A courtyard gas line was shortened. Lines were not connected from shut off valve to tankless water heater and furnace. The new gas insert shut off was connected to the insert and the shut-off valve was placed directly behind that appliance. They explained that the remainder of the work had to be finished after the inspection. At this point, I paid in full. ($5800). The gas meter was changed to 2 PSI meter later in the week and the inspection occurred the following week. The inspection failed due to the furnace vent, courtyard line, gas fireplace shut-off valve and placement of the tankless water heater. I was quoted a price to make changes on the new lines and work performed by Gas Monkey, LLC which caused the failure. At no point did ************************* inspect the work of his journeyman or apprentice. 4/19/24-The furnace was replaced by conditioned air solutions and the furnace vent issue was resolved. The tankless water heater placement issue was resolved. Prior to this Gas Monkey offered to replace the furnace for $10k and move the tankless water heater for $800. I refused. Gas Monkey does not have an HVAC license. I requested ********************** to complete the work prior to and after the furnace was replaced. They would give me dates and would not show up. They failed to show up for a scheduled inspection. This caused lost time at my job on multiple occasions. Specifically, this occurred on 4/19/24, 4/22/24, 4/25/24, 4/26/24, 5/3/24. 5/6/24-I was told by *********************** that I could not be given a time frame, and another inspection would have to take place although no further work had occurred and the issues causing the failure for which they were responsible had not been resolved. I got the feeling I was being gouged for more funds and being held hostage by the permit being under their name and relying on Gas Monkey, LLC to pass an inspection leading to my gas getting turned on. This is a form of extortion. I was also told it may be prudent to find someone else to complete the project. I was spoken to very rudely and with crude language. I contacted an attorney and another gas company to complete the work.
