I needed a septic inspected for a home I am buying. The home happens to be my father in laws so I wanted to make it easier for him and decided I would pay for the inspection. Smart Plumbing and Septic answered my call right away and came out fairly quick, which I was thankful for since I was closing in a week. This home has been in the family for well over 50 years. My husband even installed the septic system himself so he knows exactly the type, where everything is, etc etc. The morning of, they showed up an hour early, I thought GREAT. I was also quoted a price of $840. They told me the inspection failed. When asked why, the answers were all over the place. First they said a pipe running from the home to the system must be buckled or broken and that the ******** were full and properly broken as well. Basically I would need a new system. My husband came to the home that night, dug up where this pipe running from the home to system is and it was perfectly fine. Also this is a traditional septic, there are no ********. We also told the workers that the toilets have been running non stop for over a year so that's why the leech lines were full. They said no that couldn't happen. A simple ****** search would tell you other wise. They also charged me over $1K. These people lied about the system and lied about their pricing as well. I really hate that companies like this try to take advantage of people buying or selling a home. It disgusts me. If I could give ZERO stars I would. It was inspected this morning by a different company, they passed me and said this company has no idea what they are doing and trying to scam homeowners out of money!!
