DO NOT HIRE!! The father *************************, of the owner of this business is scamming people and his family is fully aware of it. We hired ************************* to repair and replace siding and some bad wood on the back of our house. He came to our house wearing an Elder Contracting T-shirt as if he is representing that company. He quoted us, we paid him most of the money. I had been using my credit card to pay him each step of the way. He knew to come to me for payment, but he waited until I left the house and them approached my husband for money. Unknowingly what we owed him, my husband handed him his debit card (not smart). *** charged us an additional $650 which was way over what we owed him. Not only did he "take the money and run", but he will not communicate with us to make this right. I have given him several chances. Also, I found out that he doesn't pay his workers either. This man is a complete liar and scam artist. I contacted his son ** who said he knew what his father has been doing. He recommended that I call the police, which is my next step.Review from Rana Y

We decided to remodel our kitchen and we chose the Elder company over another contracting company. We agreed to start the project with them, but before the project started or any employee come and start anything little a week o little after we deposit the first down payment, we denied to put hold on the project and we contacted RJ to ask if there is any cancellation fees. We were told there is it any cancellation fees before even we cancelled our project. When we asked for our deposit back, ** told us that it will be 10% deducted from the deposit since he singed a contract with his father in-law for the project and the plumber which he never came to my house to start anything. I was not happy about the 10% at all but I said ok whatever. I was told it will take 30 days to receive the money back through a quick book and nothing was received in the 30 days like they mentioned. I kept sending him messages and he told me that they had an issue with refunding the money through a quick book and they can issue a check. On top of all this we said ok we will pick up the check. At the end all this back and fourth, my husband went to pick up the check and I see the amount is totally different then what we were told, like more than 10%. I reached out to RJ and he said 10% from the total project amount. OMG I could not believe this people at all and what a fraud they are, taking moneys people and not providing with what they were told. Not sure what I can do at this point to get my money back

We understand your frustration. Please understand that you signed a contract and paid a deposit. As a company the background work that goes into to filing your job, scheduling the job etc. begins immediately. You canceled 7 days after paying the deposit. We know things pop ** in life, but please understand that when you cancel a job like this it costs the company money. 10% fee helped cover this. Before you sign contracts please be sure that you are committed and have the full funds necessary. Cancellations hurt both you and the company. As a side not, cancellation fees are a very normal practice. We have abided by law in handling this cancellation process. We wish you and your family the best!-Elder ContractingReview from Ryan S.

I had contacted *** (the owners father who works for the son RJ), to do a few things around my house and everything sounded great and I thought it was actually going to get done. After I got the estimate from *** and was told he'd start the work the next day I was excited but little did I know that was the last bit of contact id have with this person and/or company Needless to say after I already paid $$$ Ray for the material *** NEVER followed thru, NEVER had my material and NEVER had RJ's company involved. *** just throws his sons company name into the ground. Please do not trust *** .RJ is the only person who anyone dealing with this company should trust
