On 04/14/2022, I took my vehicle to Dawn's **** Repair to have the engine replaced. I was told that I would need to pay $2,400.00 as a deposit. I promptly paid the money and was told I should be able to pick it up in a few days or so. After literally over 1 year of calling and texting **** asking for a pickup date, due to the information he was providing me, i.e. they only needed to test drive it, then a hose here, and wires there, and him saying they had "ALREADY" replaced the engine and the vehicle was running it just needed this or that. I was forced to send my friend and a sheriff to go and take the vehicle back no matter the sate it was in (albeit the officer was off duty and only there to ensure that everything was on the up & up). **** gave the run around as to why they couldn't let them in the back to see it. So instead of going back there he made them tow it out to the front so he could confirm all the work that I had been told had been done to it. Imagine my frustration when my friend called me and sent me pictures showing that not only was the vehicle still non operational but they hadn't even removed the old engine. Since then I've been trying to get my money back but I've been unsuccessful. He tried to file bankruptcy but was denied. I need this money back desperately and don't know what I can do other that ask for the BBB's help. I'm a 31 year old student working full-time as a pharmacy technician making $20/hr with a $1,797.30 mortgage, car/insurance bill, phone bill, utilities ect. I've tried picking up more hours at work to try and off set the monetary loss but im still struggling it pay bills. If I could get this money back it would make a **** impact for me. Please, if there is anything that I or the BBB can do to help me, please call me at my personal number **************, or email me at ************************

I am 76 years old and a vet. I have medical appointments I have to go to and rely on neighbors and the bus to get around. Dawn's **** Repair is the reason I will have been without a car for almost a year. On December 7, 2022, I towed my car to the closest auto repair shop to my home, which happened to be over state lines in *******. After a diagnosis of the car was provided to my insurance company by the shop, the insurance company denied my coverage as the repairs were out of my plan (gasket leaks not covered by my insurance). I paid $1,300.00 for the engine ordered by ****'s **** and the part was ordered and sent to Dawn's **** Repair shop for work to be completed. The cost of services was to equal $1,500.00 and I agreed to pay this out of pocket once the vehicle was repaired and ready to be returned. I was given a two week deadline in January of 2023 by the shop. Months went by and my car was not worked on. When I followed up with the shop, ****'s **** Repair told me that the engine replacement leaked so it had to be sent back. I then waited months more and no updates were provided to me. I retained a law firm in May after being lied to about the completion date one too many times. My firm would also call ****'s **** and attempt to resolve this, but ****'s **** still lies about when the car will be finished. ****'s **** told my firm that they would complete the car with no further charge to me since I had waited so long. Further, ****'s **** said that my A/C was broken and the radiator. This was not true because my A/C had been replaced a year before the car was in Dawn's **** Repair's possession. Further, my radiator had no problems prior.****'s **** then told my firm that they would provide me with a loaner vehicle and get me my car back within the month. This was in August. It is now November, I have no loaner car, and I have endured a summer and now the start of winter without my car. I just want my car fixed please and I will pay what we agreed.

We have tried to keep the repairs within the budget that the customer could afford. in the beginning Car Shield was to pay the bill but due to there deceitful tactics opted out of covering the re4pairs. We are aware that this customer is on a limited income and we have been trying to keep the cost within what we quoted. The radiator IS the cause of the engine failure and as far as the a/c issue goes the customer mis understood what she was told. in order to replace the engine all fluids are drained. The customer has been advised of this and continues to have ****************** contact us, which we feel might also be a source of misunderstanding. Currently we are still looking for a GOOD used replacement and feel we should have a positive result shortly.

Hired ****'s Auto Repair to fix my RV motorhome. They charged my credit card $11,000.00 up front. They were to correct a diesel problem that the seller failed to correct. The previous owner deleted all of the pollution exhaust parts and the dealership that sold it to me agreed to "bring it back to a stock exhaust condition". They failed to do this, so I hired ****'s Auto Repair to complete the work. They completed the work over a 6-month period. What they failed to do was to provide me a "detailed listing of what they replaced; they failed to give me any documentation at all that would show what they did to earn my $11,000.00 billing. Did they do any repairs or did they just keep my motorhome for their use? I NEED DOCUMENTATION THAT WOULD JUSTIFY CHARGING ME $11,000.00. ALL THAT I RECEIVED WAS A BUNCH OF PROMISES!

First off we have not been in business 2.5 years! This customer is not a full time resident so making repairs are only possible when he returns for the winter months. WE have never charged for this repair as we were going to do this as a courteous gesture to help him. He has tried to drop vehicle off without an appointment and we can not just drop what we are doing and put him ahead of other customers. We strive to provide the best possible customer service possible but it is a give and take situation and cooperation is needed to accomplish this goal. But I will not tolerate having this customer disrespect any of my staff nor will I tolerate his behavior towards my office staff. That is why we suggested if he was not happy with a FREE service we were going to provide that he seek repair help from another shop.
