On 7/16/2024 we brought my daughter, *******, to this Emergency room facility for care as she injured her knee. This was an injury that occurred a couple weeks prior and was exacerbated on 7/16/2024 while playing at an indoor playground facility. When we arrived at the ** we specifically told them the injury had just been assessed this last week and we specifically needed an ***. My daughter and husband were standing at the counter with the Abrazo employee and asked if they have an *** machine on site, she confirmed yes. Furthermore, they asked, is it working? She confirmed, yes. So, we went ahead and checked in. My husband also mentioned the *** need to the Dr when they came in to assess her and the Dr did not say they did not have the machine on site. They did their assessment, another Xray (even though we had just had one done at another dr) and continually lied and misrepresented their facility equipment until they had done all this so they could bill our insurance. Then, they finally told us they don't have an *** machine on site at the end of the appointment. The amount of deceit and lack of integrity by multiple employees to fraudulently charge our insurance company and us is SO concerning and I felt the need to report them. I am requesting an adjustment on the bill to omit all charges except for the brace and crutches that we left with as we would have NEV** stayed for this appointment since our intention was the ***. I am willing to pay for the brace and crutches since we left.Initial Complaint

I had brought my daughter to the ** in December 2022 after she had hit her head on a metal k*** on a dresser. Attached is the dispute letter I sent to Abrazo, detailing my entire interaction that evening. A month after filing the dispute I received a letter that a decision was finalized, then I received a new bill for $******, which I thought was much more reasonable, so I paid. I then received another bill for the original $715.20, so I emailed and called the dispute center, where I was told that after reviewing the medical charts (where literally nothing was done) the charges are just; I was also told this new bill of ****** that I had paid was a physician fee, which I was unaware of. My interactions with the staff, dispute center, and Abrazo billing department have been extremely unprofessional and unsympathetic, where they have all been extremely rude. After just one month of telling me of the dispute decision being in favor of the **, they are now threatening to send the bill to collections. I am 8 months pregnant, my mother died in February, and my father in law died in March (my husband and I paid half/$6k of the funeral). I cannot afford to pay such an expensive bill when nothing was done to my daughter and we have been treated so poorly. While looking through the reviews online, many people have experienced similar or worse treatment by the staff at this Abrazo **. This has been an extremely upsetting and financially devastating experience. Abrazo needs to be held accountable for their patient care, and to not tell mothers who are afraid their child might have a TBI that they have wasted their time. I spent less than ******************************************************* this **, no tests were conducted, and the ** obtained all of his deducting info on my daughters condition from asking me a few questions; I do not think it is fair or just to pay $715.20. I would like the price extremely reduced. Thank you, ********************* **********
