      After much verbal abuse by the manager of *** Anthem we brought our heathy German Shepherd in August 26. and picked her up Sept. 2nd. As soon as we got her home she had the runs and was throwing up. She would not eat. We took her to our Vet. on Sept. 4th. and provided a very soft stool sample.She only eat small amounts of homemade dog food and some Fromms dry. Since then we have her had abdominal fluid drained. Have taken another stool sample to our Vet. Waiting for results. I believe our German Shepherd was mistreated and picked up some disease at the *** Anthem and going to slowly die. I just want the public to know about our situation and make their own decisions. Ray

      ***** was a German Shepherd who stayed with us one time over Aug. 26th through Sept 2nd. When a new dog comes to a pet resort it can be a very stressful situation since it is like dropping off a toddler to an unknown place with people they do not know. We cannot explain to a dog when their parents are coming back, and a week can seem like a very long time in a dog's world. It is common in the pet resort world for dog's to either not eat for a day or two, or develop diarrhea. We are always up front with all customers about this and explain that it is best to have the dog come to us for a few daycare visits prior to a long stay, especially if they have never been to a pet resort before, just to get the dog more acclimated. ***** never came in for any daycare to get acclimated prior to the week long stay.

      At SDPR, we have been in business with the new ownership for over 5 years, and were established in 2006, and we take pet care very seriously. As a small mom-and-pop resort, our level of care far surpasses that of any corporate-run facility. Our dogs do not sit in kennels but rather are rounded to play in our park area all day from 7am-6pm so they get a lot of excerise. We give all dogs lots of love and attention throughout the day, and ***** was no different. We are also constantly cleaning our facility and have checklists for cleaning that have to be done all day. We do not ever miss on this and our facility is spotless.

      While we are saddened to hear that ***** is illh however there is no way that she picked anything up from our facility. We have never had any dog get sick at our resort and we have daycare dogs that come to us daily for years with no issues.

      Hello;

      Your total disregard for the facts as your people relay them to you. Oh, *****  you were never present at the facility, so how would you know?

      Your employees are interested in self preservation and probably will not say or do anything to hurt themselves on record .

      As far as your assertions that no other dogs were sick and your facility has an unblemished record, that is rationalization on your part.

      I am not going to lower ourselves to a t** for tat argument that will go no where. The fact is that we take animal care very seriously, whether you believe that or not, which is why we have been in business so long. We have many dogs that we have cared from from puppies up until their old age and they have never been sick under our care. I am baffled though that if you truly were treated so badly before your dog stayed with us, which means you already had a bad experience, it is odd that you would have decided to leave your dog with us.

      We feel badly that your dog was sick but it didn't have anything to do with us or our care. We have excellent relationships with all vet clinics near us, including ***********************************************, who often recommends their clients to us. If we had a repulation of harming dogs, they definiately wouldn't do that. We wish you all the best.
