I have used LifeStance for over two years and this past year I found out United healthcare does not charge a co-pay. LifeStance has an insisted on a co-pay of $25 for each visit Ive had which is incorrect. United healthcare wants to know whats going on. Im going to do a report with them because I should not have any co-pays on this Service, which means you owe me back the co-pays and its at least $250 just for this year. Thats all Im going for I could go back more years I think and there be a lot more money involved but I am going to cancel all of my appointments. File several complaints on this. I have left at least a half a dozen messages. Phone calls stayed online with your billing for a half hour and get someone who has no idea what Im talking about and I get people who I wil leave messages for and no one has ever called me back so now I have to take other actions on this and I have found out this is something that has happened more than once with your company ****** ****. This may be used as a review and a complaintReview from Tearsa B

While the treatment was online and mediocre at best due to Covid, I started receving bills last month for services rendered in 2021. I thought it was a mistake becuase how could a business **** ***** owed from three years ago. Last month, they started getting invocies monthly with the last one threatening to put it in collections. There should be a timeline as to when a company can no longer bill for services. This was a complete shock and insult. I will never do business with LifeStance again and also shared this experience on social media to make others aware,Review from Em S

I liked my therapist, but Lifestance's fraudulent billing practices and abysmal customer service made me quit therapy. I reached my insurance out of pocket max in August, but here it is almost October and Lifestance has continued to charge me a copay for each visit. Not only one copay - sometimes two! They require a credit card on file and charge random, unpredictable amounts.I attempted to straighten this out via phone, and the "customer service" *** I got proceed to tell me that my insurance hadn't paid them in several months and it was *my* responsiblity to call the insurance company and demand they pay. The *** also (erroneously) told me that I had two different accounts for two different therapists. Nope - I'm one person, and only ever saw one therapist.Review from Taylor D

Im a new patient, saw a provider once and after explaining the medications I take at the time of intake they marched me with someone you wouldnt prescribe one of them. On that basis I had to set up another appointment with a new provider that I couldnt see for two weeks because of their scheduling. This left me without a crucial medication that I did everything in my power to address with them. An anti depressant. After seeing the first provider I shouldve been able to at least receive that one prescription, that she was willing to provide. None of this I knew would be an issue at any point. I was told the company would take care of me and issue the prescription in the interim since I had been seen. After that it was radio silence. Never heard from anyone and had to call to set up my next appointment, at which time I tried to address the medication dilemma. I was hung up on after being transferred to three different departments and ended up back at the one I started with. No one knew what they were doing or how to get this done. They not only failed to book my appointment but also submit the bridge request. Second day I called back and was put on hold for 20 minutes and then the it went busy. No call back. Third time I was told the issue would be resolved, though they really told me that the ********************* team was backed up and would do their best to get the issue resolved. This was from someone who wasnt in their department. She told me she would do what she could, which was to only send two separate emails with high priority. All of this after telling about a dozen people with the company how I was treated. No one could help me, after I was a patient that had been seen by a provider no less. Every single attempt was ************** writing this as a current patient with a very poor experience. Not to mention someone that has been under their care and couldnt receive mental health meds from a company that offers those services.Review from Lauren B

LifeStance billing is c*** I cancelled an appointment a few days before it was set to occur. I was okay with taking the appointment, but because LifeStance Health did not warn me in any way that I was within the 48 hour cancellation window, I got stuck with paying for the appointment without any insurance coverage.I have been a loyal patient who has paid my bills on time. I am astonished that they pushed through with insisting I pay full price. They say that I should have known about the cancellation fee because of paperwork I signed. WHAT nonsense. As someone with a busy life, I expect more notification when 98% of my contact with the billing department is online as it is time-consuming and frustrating to try to reach someone via phone. They always push you to use the website, yet there's no safety measure for situations like this, when a real person could mention "Hey, this is within the 28 hour cancellation period, are you sure you wish to cancel?"I love my doctor so I might stay, but be forewarned - stay on top of you billing because they certainly won't - unless it's to bill you.Review from Tyler D

I just recently had my first and definitely my last appointment with LifeStance. Went in to speak with a therapist and upon getting there I had to wait ***** minutes past the scheduled appointment time to wait for the therapist who was late. After sitting down and starting to talk about what was going on, the therapist kept interrupting and interjecting their own personal opinions about how i was feeling and what we had been discussing. Then they proceeded to essentially tell me that how i was feeling and the situations going on were not valid and i needed to just "suck it up and move on" because other people had it worse. After a few moments of being belittled and told my situation wasn't valid, i understandably grew irritated. Then the therapist then started telling me that i wasn't depressed and that i was just angry and need an attitude adjustment, when in fact i was frustrated and fluster at the situation at hand and how they were talking to me and dealing with my case. For someone with "30 years" experience they were extremely unprofessional and entirely no help. I definitely left feeling worse than when i first arrived, to which i was actually optimistic about. If i could leave the individuals name i would and i would entirely hope that they are dealt with by the company so that the next person that goes in for help and just needing to talk to someone doesn't have the same experience and treatment i just received. To be needing help and then to go in and be told that your situation isn't as bad as others therefore is not valid to be talked about, then told to "suck it up and deal with it", is entirely wrong and completely unprofessional.Review from Virginia D

Had my first ************ appointment two days ago. Left the appointment with the understanding I was starting a certain medication, and when I picked up the medication the next day, it was a different medication that we had spoken about starting later, but I was not under the understanding it was what I was starting at the time. Called the office to have them ask the provider about this. They said what I was prescribed was correct, and when I asked if they would check with the provider on this, I was told it says it right here in the notes. I also set up the patient portal and now I cant login or change my password, so I cant try to contact my prover through there. Highly disappointed in the lack of caring and understanding from the staff. Im just trying to make my life a little easier and more enjoyable by getting my mental health straight, so why does it feel like I have to fight with the people that are supposed to help me get better?Review from Dorothy L

WARNING!! DO NOT GO HERE! I signed my autistic son up with a therapist there who seemed to make an instant connection with him. We were really hopeful that this place could help our son, but the moment we tried to reschedule an appt, they charged us a $60 fee claiming that they needed 48 hours notice which would have been the weekend when they were closed. I tried to tell them that we had a funeral to attend and they refused to waive the fee. I completely agree with some of the other reviews that they are CROOKS and are glad to charge a fee 3x the normal for services not rendered. I wish I would have read all of the complaints against them before we wasted our time. ****** learned.Review from Paul S

Keeps emailing and texting me about a bill that I dont have. Ive never used them and they refuse to provide me any context for why they are harassing me. In addition, some may find this relevant:Billing fraud Some consumers say they were charged for services that their insurance should have covered, despite having their insurance verified before receiving the services. Others claim that LifeStance added unauthorized billing codes to their invoices, and sent bills to people who never used their services.Review from Carlos P

I want to preface this by saying the front desk was very polite, understanding, and accommodating. Aside from them this was one of my top 5 worst experiences and i will absolutely be looking for a different company .I made my appointment over a week ago to see ***** *********, my appointment was scheduled for 1pm, I got to the building 20 min early just incase I had any new client paperwork (sh*t can take a while). After 30 min I was told there was a problem with the provider and I get that especially in this type of establishment. So I wasnt really bothered by it and decided to wait, a little while later I was told that there is still a problem with the provider and they will try to fit me in at 3:30. Definitely an inconvenience but I already had the day off and in the area so I decided to get some food and wait. I get back to the center at 3pm and the front desk told me they would let my provider know. ***** min later I was still waiting in the front room only to Be told that there was still a problem and that the provider told them one thing but did another or something to that degree (to ****** off at that point to really pay attention). At that point I asked the front staff for the company hr information so I can get in contact with them. All in all, this experience was absurdly unprofessional and a complete waste of time. I would suggest to anyone reading this to please find a different company/Psychiatrist. Clearly this one has no respect for your time.
