They deny African-American customer access to loans and other financial products through lies and deception! Than they blatantly put in that customers ********************** file. They have them submit documents knowing full well that they have no intention of approving the loans based on the color of the persons skin color!Review from Kellie!!! S

THE EMPLOYEES AT THE FIRST CITY CREDIT UNION ARE THIEVES!! ONE EMPLOYEE AT THE CALIFORNIA STREET BRANCH TOOK MY CASH DEPOSIT & GAVE ME A DEPOSIT SLIP INSTEAD OF A ************** ENTER MY CAR PAYMENT INTO THE COMPUTER FOR 3 DAYS!! IT WAS LATER DISCOVERED THE EMPLOYEE TOOK THE CASH HOME & REPAID MY ACCOUNT DAYS LATER!

Thank you, ***************** for bringing this to our attention and giving us the opportunity to research what took place on your account. Following our internal investigation, we did find the error was due to oversight of the employee who accepted your loan payments, and not applying them immediately to your loans. Your payments were made on February 29, 2024, at 10:00am, and the error was discovered on March 1, 2024, at 10am. Once the error was identified, we corrected it by applying your loan payments and using the effective date of February 29, 2024. Because we back dated your payments, no additional interest was charged to your loans. Please be assured, we found no malicious intent in the delay of posting the payments, nor were the cash payments ever removed from the branch. On March 4, 2024, you spoke to our Vice President of ****** Services, ***************, who apologized and assured you this was an honest mistake, an employee error and that it would be addressed accordingly. Not sure if Im sending this to the right person but it is of most importance that someone reads this email and revisits the staff working in your car loan department . Ive applied for a car loan in January in person at the Spring street (**) location. I was told it will take about 4-6 weeks for the application to process. I am RN working night shifts for the LA County . This was my second time applying for a car loan since the first time person that was handling my loan wasnt professional and able to provide me with best information also unavailable when tried contacting directly to his phone number multiple times. Anyway I let it go and came back two years after Ive been with this branch hoping for a better luck now that Ive built some resume with the bank. This time I after I applied in person for a car loan I received no call no mail or email . Ive checked the status finally and saw that my application was denied. Ive called someone this morning to the customer service number and I was told that my application was denied that sum request was too high and that someone tried calling me and left a message and sent me a letter I never received either of those things that someone claimed they did and were placed in my application package. Maybe is the same guy working the car loans doing a really bad job? I cannot recall the name . What is upsetting that this application has cost me my hard earning credit score points that Ive been working on really hard to get my credit score high up so I can be able to apply to loans and credit cards etc . I am sad that this credit union which I had so much reason to support, has such bad customer service and had left me no choice but to look for business with other banks and credit unions. Sadly I wont be recommending this bank to anyone or advising them to seek business with you.Review from Courtney D

I did a car Loan with first city federal credit union. I've never missed a payment in a year and a half and payments have been on time. I became unemployed then I started to collect unemployment while I tried to finish a type of class I'm required to take before I get a job again because the jobs I do are out of state. I've been out of work 6 months making my payments on time until NOW when I can't. I have no more unemployment money so I call to ask for the 3 months hardship until I find a job or able to come up with a couple of months to put behind me so this doesn't happen again! They had me fill out an application of credit to see if I QUALIFY for the extension. Being that I don't have income and I can't guarantee them I will find a job I don't qualify LOL! So they'd rather me be delinquent in my car payments them get an extension to try to help myself. DONT LOAN WITH THIS COMPANY! THEYRE TRASH! I regret loaning with them 100%!!!First City Credit Union Response
