They overcharged ** for breaking our lease. We responded with reasons as to why we shouldnt be charged but were completely ignored. After numerous attempts to get in contact via email and phone, they completely ignored all of our messages. We are due credit for returning all keys, and shouldnt be charged for the claims they made due to Covid reasoning. Happy to further elaborate on a call if needed. I can provide follow up documents if needed.Initial Complaint

I moved out on December 20th of 2022 and received my Final Balance on January 9th 2023. On my final balance I was charged for cleaning, painting and replacement of carpet. Per my lease agreement normal wear and tear is expected. "The Move-In/Move-Out Inventory and Condition Form attached hereto shall be deemed incorporated herein by reference. Upon termination of the tenancy, Resident shall return the Unit to Owner in as good working order, condition and repair as when received, ordinary wear and tear excepted, and free of all of Resident's personal property, trash and debris. *****, stains, holes or tears of any size or kind in the carpeting, draperies, or walls, among other types of damage, do not constitute reasonable wear and tear."I have emailed ***************** the person who email me this final statement which she stated at the bottom "If you have any questions, please let me know by replying to this email." I have followed up with this email with three emails in the past eleven days and have not received a response. I will not be getting charged for these things and I deserve my deposit back.In the emails to ***************** I attached a video of how I left my apartment, which was in perfect condition. It is not legal to charge the tenants for normal wear and tear.Initial Complaint

I left Camden Martinique at the end of a 15-month lease. I provided the required 60 days notice. I was informed when I gave notice that a maintenance crew would inspect my apartment prior to my departure. They never did. I moved out and turned in my keys on 12/6/22.Landlords have 21 days to return a security deposit in **********. The 22nd day after I vacated (12/28/22), I was provided with a list of bogus charges that conveniently added up to slightly more than my total security deposit. Immediately, on 12/28/22, I attempted to contact them by phone and by email. The phone does not ever reach the office, but rings to a call center. The email has not been responded to, despite the email with the invoice closing with "If you have any questions, please let me know by replying to this email." The invoice states balances past 30 days will be turned over to collection.I left my apartment in essentially the same condition in which it was given to me at move-in. I had carefully removed an interior door inside the bathroom, and it and its hardware were labeled and stored in the unit's storage closet. was absolutely undamaged. The maintenance team should have been able to take care of this in a matter of moments. I was charged an incredible $250 to "replace" the door. It was NOT missing. The bathtub was clean and left exactly as it was when we moved into the unit. It appeared to have been installed incorrectly and part of the bottom was sunken during our entire tenancy. This is absolutely not the result of anything we did. I was charged $260 to repair this item.I was charged $245.20 for full apartment cleaning and painting despite having fully cleaned and leaving the walls undamaged. Apartment managers should expect to incur normal wear and tear on their unit, and it is not legal to charge their tenants for basic property upkeep that is within the scope of those terms.
