The recruiter during the hiring process did not disclose I was what they call a back up, meaning I was only going to be used if another hire did not arrive. I was not the only one mislead. I was encouraged to show up the next day in case there was another no show. I had sent all of my onboarding paperwork at this point including social security number, proof of identity, amount other documents. It was a two week onboarding process in which I attended orientations and went to the work location and waited two hours standing against a wall in which they never told me I was a back up. They kept mentioning it was a first come first serve for equipment pick up and I was the second person there, wasn't told I was a back up and made to wait two hours. Of course orientation and the two hour wait was unpaid. When I called my recruiter he was not in office for a four day weekend and when I called a supervisor I was told they would be in touch and that an email sent the night before conveyed I was a back up. I was unable to contact anyone after hours over what that exactly meant as it had not been mentioned through out the entire two week onboarding boarding process until then. Almost a month later no contact, resolution, or anything has been made. Be weary seems very shady and unethical way to hire staff.
