Defective products, terrible customer service.Avoid their wifi products; they are not a finished product. The initial setup is very flaky. Sometimes the app works, sometimes no. The Linksys app concistently crashes during setup, requiring starting over from the beginning. Often the parent node will be set up, but the app can't connect the child node. When you contact linksys support, they just go through the same script over and over, hoping that something will fix the defective product. The'll have you: reset the child node, reset the parent node, attempt to set up with the app, attempt to set up with the admin web page, then try to swap the parent and child nodes, then try to connect them with an ethernet cable. All of this wastes hours. Linksys support won't deviate from their script, asking you to try the same thing over and over.Once the network is working, any time it restarts (power failure, firmware update), the child node might not find the parent. When this happens, the whole network becomes unusable. Support will walk you through the steps above, trying to get the child node connected, which may or may not work. This is by far the worst WiFi product I've ever had.Review from Jill G

Firstly I want to say I owned a Linksys router **** years and it never gave a problem, just got old. So, I bought a new updated Linksys router in Aug '23. In Nov '23 the Internet kept going out which was because of the adapter supplied was overheating. Their solution was to let them monitor for 24 hours. *****, I said no and swapped out adapter from my old Linksys. All was fine till Nov 23 Internet went out daily 2-4 times. I reset lasted 4 days. I called support and they did a bit more of a reset and lasted till January 24. Again same problem keeps going out. Of course their protocol is yet another reset. She pro.ised no more resets and to call if it goes out again don't touch nothing. 6 days later it goes out. I call she has me doing all this stuff to tell me it's. To their router but the spectrum modem. A 40$ item obviously defective under a 1 year warranty and such a run around. Never again. What happened to quality Linksys.Customer Response

I like Linksys. I bought the Linksys E1000 in 2012 in *******.When I moved to **********, **, the *** gave a Netgear router, but after a year, I used the Linksys E1000 again because it is easy to use and administer. Then the pandemic came and I read about routers and I realized that I use the slow band. I bought the Linksys ****1900ACS (2016). It was a bit old, but it is good with the 5Ghz band.Reading more, WiFi 6 was born, specifically, WiFi 6E or the 6GHz band. Thanksgiving 2021, Linksys sold the MR7500 or the Hydra Pro 6E for $250 when its price was $550!I got one and I got a good deal! I bought the ****** Pixel 6A and I connected to the 6GHz band and the speed is awesome!!!However, July 2022, it started to fail. It won't connect to the Internet after a restart. With Linksys helping and asking me to update the firmware (Hey, I got the ** automatic update on!), nothing was solved!I had to learn how to fix it. It is resetting it for every restart. It is inconvenient because the configuration has to be repeated every time like entering the **** and password for each of the three bands. After more than 10 restart/reset, I finally, asked Linksys to replace it last week (2023-09-26). Linksys Cares? They still want to diagnose the router. Hey, Linksys, I have spent a lot of time sending emails to you. I even gave you a time when I can be free, but you did not call. Then you will call me and say the it is Voicemail. Of course, I am busy, too. Please do not make me work to make this router work. It should be the other way around, this router should be the one working so I can do my job!Earlier, I asked you to replace the MR7500, but after seeing the review of @***********, please refund it. You might send me an MR7500 that's even worse than what I have!I like Linksys and I still use the E1000 as an acceess point (wired to MR7500) and the ****1900ACS as a WiFi repeater. ... please refund my $250 + tax and I will just buy the ***Link ****** BE9300!Review from Jacqueline O

I had a unit under warranty that had a flaky switch, so I sent it back. Instead of replacing it with the same type of unit (WHW01) they sent me a completely different unit (MR7500). I have spent 10 hours on the phone with both their level 1 and level 2 technicians and cannot get the MR7500 working. I even paid 1 local technicians with over 25 years of experience, and they could not get it going either. Linksys wants to send me another MR7500, and I refused it. I told them I want what I sent back to them, a WHW01. They claimed they don't have any WHW01s, and I have to accept the MR7500. I told them I had looked at their website and they are selling the WHW01. If they don't have them, why are they selling them? Now they promised me a resolution in 24 hours, but that was a week ago. I sent them copies of my receipts and photos of my computer with that MR7500 hooked up, but not working. I want a replacement for what I sent them, not something that I didn't buy from them. The MR7500 does not work, and I don't want another one. The WHW01 (which I have 2 working ones in my home right now, and the third unit is what I sent back to them) is what I want from them. Either a WHW01 or my money back for the one I shipped to them.Review from Robert W

Bought Linksys products over the years and was fully satisfied with their performance and prices. However in February of 2023 I called Linksys support regarding getting a WIFI extender back on line. The technician was very supportive in working with me but advised I needed some cleanup of my network as I had various network intrusion attempts. Showed me a screen showing all the attempts. I said OK and another technician got into my system and supposedly removed offending issues. Next thing I knew is I had Webroot installed on my computer and I had somehow agreed to a contract with Geek InfoTech Solutions for $749 for my Linksys fix and 8 years of service from this outfit. Somehow I started off with Linksys but got shuffled to Geek InfotTech. I tried to cancel the CC transaction the next day but they had already processed the transaction. I always thought I was pretty sharp to all these scams but I really got nailed on this one. BTW my machine does not work any better and I had to disable Webroot.Review from Serena M

Utter disgrace. Product constantly fails, customer support is an even bigger disgrace (we are literally on hold for hours each time we have to call). Weve lost countless hours of work trying to troubleshoot their substandard product.Linksys Response

I contacted Linksys for support for one of their WIFI routers. After speaking with a support tech, it was decided that I needed to upgrade my router. So, after a discussion with the tech, I decided to buy a Linksys MX2001 router at a final price of $127.79 out the door. The next day I went online to my credit union to review my purchase. When I looked at my account, Linksys not only charged me for the one router in the amount of $127.79, but they also charged me for another router in the amount of $135.78 which I did not authorize. When I called them to let them know what they had done, they said that there is nothing they can do about it. And if I wanted to get my money back, I would have to bring it to a *** store. Well, the nearest *** store is 12 miles away, one way. I asked them to cover my gas to go there and they refused to do that. All of their call centers are in ***************. You cant talk to anyone in *******. This is the mindset of Linksys, on the cheap Hearable customer service and will not take responsibility for their actions. The last router I will buy from Linksys. They need to make good on what they did. I should have to pay a ***** more than I have.
