Do Not Use BCI (aka Boonstra Construction, *** in *********)!!!!Im going to keep my review and description of my experience with BCI to be very objective and stating the facts. Im hoping by reading this you will be saved from the nightmare situation Im going through with BCI. Most of the info below was included in the submission to the **** (Contractors ******************** already:Summary:I was quoted a range for the bathroom remodel $19K - $30K (164 sq feet)The scope of the work was decreased from original quote we decided to just update the bathroom no other changes were made At first the work seemed like it was on schedule and moving quickly. Then BCI put only one person on the job that was extremely slow, it seemed like he was learning on our job. It took him 3 days to grout the shower and over a week and half to lay title on the floor. The project manager was newly out of college had no real job experience, so we had two people we are paying high hourly rates for that were learning on our job The labor hours were adding up beyond belief We had no dispute over the material cost because we selected everything, and the pricing were correct. Final invoice was for $61.3K, more than double the quote!!!! All of the difference in cost was labor charges for a job that was reduced in scale. I began trying to negotiate with the owner (*******************************), and after a few back and forth e-mails I was directed to only speak to his lawyer I did some research and found other complaints about BCI online that were very similar to my situation, so I needed to hire a lawyer to communicate with the BCI lawyer I placed a complaint with the **** (Contractors ********************. After talking to the individual assigned the case, they told me that since there have been other complaints against BCI Even though I thought it wasn't fair considering the scope had decreased on the project, I offered to pay a total of $30,000 for the completed work (there w

(BCI), we take great pride in our stellar reputation as a general contractor with a long and growing list of 100's of satisfied clients that we have garnered over 20 + years in business throughout Southern **********. Whether its custom home, tenant improvement or remodels, our past clientele are our primary source of referrals. We would never risk those relationships for any reason. Our longevity in business is testimony to the quality of our work and says far more about BCI than one review by a disgruntled client. While our goal is to always do our utmost best to make sure every client is satisfied, we have had to initiate legal action against this particular client, ***********************, related to her non-payment for work that was done and approved by her and remains unpaid. Due to the ongoing legal dispute we filed against her, we are not at liberty to respond to the outlandish false statements and misinformation in this review. Unfortunately, she has chosen to try to damage BCI through false and defamatory statements on social media because she has no legal basis to defend the claims BCI has filed against her. We have documentary evidence to support our case, including quantum meruit, a legal action to recover compensation for the value of work done and labor in court through arbitration/mediation and before the Contractors ******************** It saddens us that *********************** is using Reviews this way and refusing to pay the value of work already performed.
