In 2019 I was in contact with the company, Student Education Center,, about student loan repayment/debt forgiveness. I paid the company the qualifying payments required, and then after the qualifying period, they took over my loan, changed my FSFA ID, changed the account information (address, etc.), etc. I was forgiven for my loan, and it even came off of my credit report. Up until recently (past few months), it was my impression that I no longer had a student loan and had heard nothing to make me think otherwise. However, I received mail from Aidvantage, a loan servicer, stating that it was time (after the government pause) to resume payments. Mind you, this loan had been unheard of since 2020 and was supposed to have been taken over and forgiven. Now, after being out of debt for the loan, I am back in debt for the loan and also out of pocket money I paid to the organization, Student Education Center.
