I visited with my dog on 11-15-23 for an initial consult for an anesthesia free dental cleaning. She is not my regular vet, nor was I interested in changing vets, just wanted the dental. My dog is in excellent health, and sees her vets regularly - ******* Ophthalmology, ****************** and East Sac vet. Dr ***** consult was a money grab. they took ******* from me and I sat quietly in the lobby for the duration of the 80 minute visit - which is totally odd - its not pandemic anymore, and I was the only client. I didnt appreciate it, but whatever. At 3 different points a vet tech came out and tried to sell "needed" supplements and deliver news that she has a heart murmur and should have a full heart workup. She's 10 and no other vet has ever said she has a heart murmur, nor did I believe Dr ***** group. I wasnt in the room, I cant vouch for who listened to her heart, but suffice to say I took her to East Sac afterwards to confirm, and she does NOT have a heart murmur. Next issue became the fact that 4 times during my purgatory in the lobby, a vet tech came out and chastised the receptionist for various issues like using white out on the charts and not obtaining the vaccine records for the animals, etc.. I was mortified for her, and tried to become even more invisible. You praise in public and chastise in private. After the last attempt at selling me a vitamin D test, I realized it wouldnt stop. I said I had to be going, and I paid for the visit and left. Almost $550 for a misdiagnosed heart murmur and overpriced supplement that I was charged twice for by mistake. When I emailed the vet about the duplicate charge, she blamed me, saying I caused office stress. What a crock! the error was obvious, just say "Oops, I'll fix it." Then she got offended that I caught them in a mistake and refused the dental, even though the dog was healthy and had sold me antibiotics for the procedure that are no longer relevant and another waste of money. Buyer beware, choose elsewhere.
