I am filing a complaint against a martial arts studio. My 2 children were enrolled in a weekly class for several months where the owner/proprietor would automatically charge my credit card she had on file $152.00 per month for my 2 children's once weekly class.My wife informed the owner/teacher my children would no longer be attending class anymore after December of 2021. This information was communicated to the owner in person after my children's final class in December 2021 with several other families present who stated they would corroborate this story / conversation if needed.Despite communicating to the owner that my children would no longer attend and would no longer be enrolled in their weekly martial arts class, the owner still charged my credit card 3 more times. The owner charged my credit card twice in January 2022, and charged my card once in February 2022. The fraudulent charges total $456 ($152 x 3).When the charges were noticed in my credit transactions at the beginning of March 2022, I immediately contacted the owner to ask for a refund. The owner denied issuing me a refund and stated that she was not informed my children would no longer be attending. I also informed the owner my I did not sign a contract for my children to attend and their names were not found on any class roster for the 2 months I was charged. The owner is the main instructor and is found at this business often. The owner was well aware my children were no longer attending and continued to charge my credit card anyway. Despite all the evidence to the contrary, a refund was still denied. Charges occurred on January 22 & 25, and on February 12 2022.
