overcharged on labor. Services not correct. less than a year ago, I had a company out to do service on my air conditioner. It is still under a year warranty labor as well as three year warranty parts when turning on AC this season, the unit would not turn on reached out to original HVAC company to come out to look at the unit. worker was here for three hours. Add a new thermostat and reset was told he would wait to make sure everything was working. Went outside and he had left received an invoice that night for double the labor of what he normally charges his labor is $125 an hour and he charged me $250 an hour during regular business hours on a weekday, I question his invoice and he stated that I would be paying for his labor and his employees never did. He inform me that I would be paying his employees . i called to multiple companies in my county and none of them charge labor for their employees. I also had to rehire another company to come out and complete the work as my AC thermostat was wired incorrectly . As well as program to blow heating and air at the same time so my heater and air conditioning unit were running at the same time blowing out hot air until we turned it off and called another company I believe I should be also not charged for the $125. also on his invoice for the correction I have the new invoice for that as well. All Im asking is for correct invoice . I received an email today stating he would like to send my claim to mechanics lean in my county that we live in. I had replied stating that I am waiting for a correct invoice.

Im writing this letter in response to the letter we received from a complaint filed by *************. I want to start by saying weve been contracting since 2004 and *** never received a single complaint. Im a train technician who attended a five-year apprenticeship program for Local 393 ********, **********. *** also attended a two year automation and programming school through Automated Logic Controls. I served in the United States Coast Guard and have an honorable discharge. We are licensed and insured. Our company's foundation is integrity and a heart for servicing our community.

Regarding this particular situation, we were referred to ************** by another customer that was extremely pleased with our work. She had gotten some estimates but also wanted us to give her a bid for a unit replacement. She called us and asked if there was anything that we could do with the old system that would be less expensive, I told her I had some shop stock and that I could do a Compressor at cost. She approved the work and we replaced her refrigeration compressor for $1800. All other components of her existing system are approximately 24 years old. This work was done approximately one year ago.

We received a new service request in May of 2024 from *************. She said her AC was non-functional and assumed the compressor we installed had issues and was hoping it would be covered under warranty.  We arrived on site, tested the compressor and found it to be running perfectly. We informed her that her system was not working, but it had nothing to do with the compressor so any service work that we provided would be billable. She stated she wanted the work completed and her AC running again, so we began to troubleshoot her system. We found multiple electrical issues. We replaced a contactor, a transformer fuses, and a thermostat, and we tested the unit three times. The System ran perfectly upon our completion. We showed her how to use the new thermostat, and gave her the old parts. We were in constant communication with her, informing her of the work done. Work was completed 5/16/24.

This customer has refused to pay her invoice and we have tried multiple times to answer her questions about the invoice. After being well past 30 days and trying to work with her about the amount due, we resorted to informing her we would need to take her to small claims court if she didn't not respond regarding intent to pay. This same day she filed her complaint and we still have yet to receive payment or response form *************.

Her complaints filed to BBB are extremely upsetting, as we work very hard to make sure our customers are happy. She complained that she should not have to be charged for 2 Journey men but I have to pay for the two journeymen who worked on her system. She approved the work knowing it was not going to be covered under warranty because the Parts I installed in her 25 year old system worked and was not the cause of her system failure. We should not have done the work but it was extremely hot and per her request, we wanted to help her cool her home.

I ended up rewriting my invoice to just cover the materials, willing to count the labor as a loss and still she refuses to pay anything. It is Extremely frustrating that I've been burned financially and now I have to defend my honor and my business. I truly hope that anyone who reads this complaint is able to see it for what it is.
