On January 11, 2022, UC San Diego Health entered into a Settlement with the Department of Justice. The Settlement settles allegations that the business violated the False Claims Act by ordering medically unnecessary genetic testing reimbursed by Medicare. Under terms of the settlement, the business agrees to pay $2.98 million.The Assurance was for settlement purposes only and should not be considered as an admission of guilt or finding of violation of the law.
