Avira ************ c/o WeWork ***************************************************************** Date of Complaint 9-19-24 Woke up to find my Avira Id and Password app wiped clean of my 80 sites. Chat support was useless. Called the number for support. The agent took the opportunity to find in my laptop any possible malware instead of unlocking my account. Not sure if he actually found anything but pursued rather harshly to sign me up for 200$ to 300$ worth of ********* anti virus protection. Finally after trying numerous attempts to stop his sales pitch it was obvious he was not going to do as I requested. I made it very clear I was not going to sign up for anything just wanted my account unlocked or email all my information. He promised I would receive it within 24 hours. However he kept pushing the sales to sign up. It is evident that Avira had decided my free account was no longer free and shut me down. I need my account unlocked and to never be harassed again or my information sent to me asap. Its been 24 hours and Avira has not unlocked my account or emailed my account information.Initial Complaint

My company helped install Avira security program on my computer 3 years ago. 2 years ago my company was sold and we no longer use Avira. I have repeatedly tried to cancel this subscriotion including a call to Avira support who assured me my subscription was cancelled about 6 mos ago, however, they continue to bill me monthly in the amount of $9.99. I have tried the phone number associated with this charge, it is a phone number trying to sell products to seniors. I have tried cancelling in my Avira account but it shows "no active subscription", nevertheless, I continue to be billed. I have tried to find a direct number for life support without any success.Initial Complaint

i was charged for an unauthorize renewel. i would like my money back. i took the service off my computer months ago . they are sending me in circles to different people. all i want is my refundBusiness response

This complaint is regarding Avira (Avira, Inc / www.avira.com) "free" antivirus software. This product is invasive bordering on malware - i.e. installing unwanted extensions in Chrome and Firefox browsers without permission. Specifically, the three extensions that Avira repeatedly installs without permission (even after a fresh install of Chrome and Firefox browsers) are: -Avira Safe Shopping -Avira Browser Safety -Avira Password Manager These are unwanted and invasive extensions that Avira repeatedly installs without permission. These unwanted extensions affect the performance of my PC. Uninstalling the product did not work, and it continued to install the unwanted extensions repeatedly. There is no way to uninstall the product completely. There is no response to the "contact" form regarding this issue. This product's unwanted browser triple extension installations causes instablity and PC "crash" and it is unconscionable that there is no way to uninstall the product completely. Their website instructions do not work. The three browser extensions are "fugitive", that is, they do not show up in any search on Windows PC, therefore therefore, there is no way to fully remove them. This is malware.Initial Complaint

Charged for service I did not authorize. Debiting my personal account without authorization. Will not cancel even upon request without me logging on to my computer.
