Lennox HVAC System (furnace and air conditioner) ordered 7/30/2021 from Costco San Marcos through Oak Island HVAC (Salesman **** ********). Installation start date = 8/10/2021; completed installation date = 8/23/2021 with ***, *****, and ****** **New furnace did not fit clearly into the attic until "hatch" drywall framing was removed. 3-man work crew lifted the new furnace up into the attic using a ladder. The new furnace did not fit into the old furnace platform space also. Foreman named Samson had to buy 2X4's, Simpson bracing brackets, and plywood to build new furnace platform opposite the old furnace platform. New aluminum ducting pieces and vent pipe were installed through the tile roof. I have e-mailed and called Oak Island and Costco (19) times since 1/11/2021 to get a licensed structural engineer to my house to submit the required drawings to the City of San Marcos. I have also talked to Sr. Inspector ***** ***** at San Marcos City Hall Building Division for his assistance to help Oak Island. Friday 9/2/2022 ARC Engineers Adrial Lara called me to schedule an appointment to take photos and measurements of the furnace installation in my attic. He will be out Wed 9/7/2022. My wife and I are retired (ages 67 & 70) trying to enjoy retirement. Oak Island has not responded in a timely manner throughout the past 12 months in getting this project completed. Their operations, sales, and customer service groups are beyond acceptable. 3rd party HERS inspector evaluated HVAC installation efficiencies and compliance 12/23/2021. Inspector Anthony Alequin provided a satisfactory rating on the system, ducts, and fans. **Attached is the City of San Marcos Building Sr. Inspector ***** *****'s Correction Notice dated 1/11/2022. A licensed structural engineer drawing is required from Oak Island HVAC identifying the roof truss construction being able to support this newly-built furnace platform into the attic.Business response

BBB Team,Oak Island HVAC has finally been able to hire a structural engineer to work on the over-sized Lennox furnace installed into my attic 8/23/2021. City of San Marcos Sr. Inspector David Yorba had cited this installation on 1/11/2022 as a roof truss challenge as well as a heater maintenance challenge.Structural engineer Adriel Lara from ARC Engineering worked with the San Marcos engineers to provide measurements and a structural drawing. The drawing was approved Tuesday 9/27/2022. My wife and I can finally enjoy the HVAC investment of a new air conditioner and heater.I would like to complete the BBB complaint with Oak Island. (19) e-mails and with Oak Island Costco is ridiculous. What else has to be done?Regards,Paul Sreboth760-809-4521
