I had a scheduled appointment for a diagnostic for my 2018 Honda CBR RR on 02/17/2022. After speaking with the shop on what I believed the issue was with the bike, they confirmed this was in fact a front chem chain tensioner issue and stated that they could order the parts and repair this for roughly $400. I said I was ok with paying this price and to go ahead and order the parts. They then called me back and asked if I wanted the back chem chain tensioner replaced since they were taking the engine apart and it was a good time to replace both before the other part went bad. They then told me it would be an additional $1000 to have that part replaced. I blindly agreed to have that part replaced as well since they recommended this. The bike then sat at their shop for the next 1.5 months waiting for parts and then someone to work on it. I decided to call them the week of March 14th 2022. They told me the bike would be ready on March 17th 2022. After not hearing back from the shop, I decided to check the status of my repairs on March 19th 2022. They then stated that they had to stop working on the bike due to police motorcycle needing repairs. They then stated they did not have a new completion date for my bike. I then told them I wanted my bike back and I would pick it up later that evening. I went to pick up my bike later that day they gave us the bike in parts and filthy. Parts fell off the bike as they rolled the bike out of the shop. Worst motorcycle shop around. Here are photos of my bike before taking it to this shop and after picking it up. We then decided to call another motorcycle shop in Santa Barbara and they told us that the shop in Santa Maria was robing us blind and the bike only had one chem chain tensioner and they were trying to replace parts on the bike that did not exist and rob us by $1000. This shop should not be in business and we would like our money back and others should be warned that this place is a scam. I am very upset.Business response

I have talked to the customer and heard his side. He has since started the repairs with another dealership and found out our quote for parts was indeed accurate. But in both or our opinions the situation was handled very poorly at my dealership. I have refunded his estimate fee.Customer response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 16952755, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
