This merchant is a scammer. I rented a boat from them on 7/1/22. During propeller pre-check, one of the blade had very minor bent and their staff called it normal and good. When we returned, a staff checked the propeller again and said we were good to go. A few seconds later, another staff came out from nowhere and said he needed to recheck. After checking he said we damaged the propeller and need to pay $500 repair cost. We asked him to remove the propeller for checking and the propeller was exactly the same as it when we started. The second staff was very rude and insisted that we had hit something and bent the propeller, but there was not even a scratch on the blade. I asked to talk to a manager and one lady came out. She was also very rude saying that she did not need me to agree and she would charge me the repair cost any way. Later I found the same thing happened to other customers on ****** and Yelp reviews. This merchant is a habitual criminal targeting at non-residents and foreign tourists.

There is no scam, the customer damage the propeller of the boat they rented unfortunately.  This damage was shown to the customer and they were also offered to keep the equipment the damaged but refused.  This complaint is in retaliation to their negligence and inability to take responsibility for their actions.  We see propeller damage in less than 1 out of 200 hundred rentals and it is unfortunate this customer didn't listen to the simple directional instructions we set forth.  Foreign tourists make up about 1/2 of our rentals and about 1/2 of our damages as well.  Tourists tend to be more outspoken as they are typically on a budget and the mistake they caused eats into that amount.  It doesn't change the fact that these customers damaged the vessel they rented and are responsible for the costs of those damages.

I am rejecting this response because: Please see the attached photo for their so called "damage".  The propeller was like this before we left the dock and the staff who did the pre-check saying this was good.  We followed all the instructions and had stayed far away from any shore all the time.  When we returned to the dock, the first staff checked the propeller and said we were good to go.  After I asked where I should go for check-out (which might make me look like a rookie), another staff came out from nowhere and said that we had hit something and damaged the propeller.  Obviously we did not hit anything, otherwise it would look much worse.  This merchant abused their rights and determined the condition of propeller arbitrarily disregarding the fact that the propeller was the same before and after our rental.  And they had never offered us to keep the "damaged" part since they can still use it.  Even if they did, they knew I would not take it as I was traveling and have no use for it.

      Customer definitely damaged the propeller

I am rejecting this response because: The propeller was like that (picture sent in the last response) before we left the dock.  Two blades looked perfect and one blade was just not as straight as the other two at the tip edge but you can barely tell the difference.  Their staff who did pre-check called it good before we started, and their first staff also called it good when we returned.  It's ridiculous that the second staff called the same prop "damaged" and would like us to buy him a brand new one.

We reject their rejection of the response.  This matter is closed as far as we are concerned, you damaged the vessel you rented and were charged accordingly.

Please see attached for the photos of the "damaged" propeller.  One blade tip was just not as straight as the other two, it was already like that and their staff called it normal and good before we left the dock.  If we had hit something, how could the other two blades remain perfect and the "damaged" blade did not even have a ding at the tip.

There will be no refund, the customer did the damage they were charged for.  This matter is closed as far as we are concerned.  We will not respond to further inquiries about this matter.

I am rejecting this response because: We did not damage anything and have provided a proof with the photos.  What proof did the merchant provide?  Nothing other than arbitrarily saying it.
