Initially booked the supposed "free" consultation which I was under the impression was covered under my PPO/ PPO network. I was surprised with a ****** bill, due to my visit was considered out of network, which I was never informed. Had persistent foot swelling, and was referred by my podiatrist to test for possible venous insufficiency, since they are advertised as "vein specialists". So basically I was offered (what I presumed) a simple ultrasound scan of my (1) foot (and calf) , which came up to a whopping **. The verdict was I didn't have "varicose" veins in my leg, which i explained that was NOT THE REASON I BOOKED THE APPOINTMENT (again I was there for venous insufficiency in my FOOT.) Needless to say, I was referred to ANOTHER Lymphatic "specialist" (which I declined, and I am now under the care of my primary care doctor) so I'm still right where I started. 2 months later I am now getting a surprise ** bill regarding this issue. Sadly- upon doing more research, I see this same non disclosure issue happening numerous times, and I have views **** and BBB reviews of the exact same thing (and same bill) happening to other patients.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/07/07) */ All of our patients are informed at the office that if a detailed ultrasound is performed it will be billed to their insurance. Our patients sign a consent form giving us the authorization to bill the ultrasound to their insurance. We also have all patient sign a Financial Responsibility Policy which clearly states that West Medical Center is Out Of Network. We have both on file for this patient. We do not surprise bill our patients our their insurances, they are informed and we get properly signed consents.
