I purchased a 2017 ****** legacy in 2018 from *** Fowler's auto center. Approx. 18 months later I started experiencing battery drain issues. The first time it happened I had to purchase a battery booster for $95 to get me out of a predicament. After the next time it died, which was about 1 week later (Thank god for the booster! ) I purchased a new battery for $160 thinking this would fix the issue. After another 18 months or so, same problem. This is when I started to investigate on the internet and found a class action lawsuit ( In re ****** Battery Drain Products Liability Litigation, No. 1:20-cv-03095-JHR-MJS) in which the plaintiffs (car owners) complained about battery drain. Settlement now pending. Today, October 7, 2022 in brought my legacy to *****************************'s auto center who new exactly what the problem was and updated the firmware to resolve the issue. They said they would not install a new battery due to it was not the original that came with the car when I purchased it. If it was disclosed to me that this model car had issues I wouldn't have changed the battery. I would have had it towed to their shop. I wouldn't have even purchased the car if this problem was disclosed to me at the time of purchase. This problem was well known before 2018 and should have been disclosed. What if my wife was killed trying to get a jump start in the mall parking lot!
