Blue Ribbon Exteriors and Construction was able to get me a New ************** in 2021 and a very nice settlement in 2022, from a Hail storm in 2018. After 3 separate Roof companies verifying hail damage, and many attempts to get my insurance to pay for it (they refused and claimed that the roof damage was from a previous solar install) AND filing an Insurance Complaint with the ******** ******** of ********** while every home in my neighborhood is getting their roof replaced due to hail damage? Blue Ribbon was referred to me as the company that will go fight the ***************** for what is rightly due. They did just that, and I highly recommend them.Blue Ribbon Exteriors and Construction Response

Similar to ***** C's experience, BRE will rip you off and try to tell you that you are paying retail prices, when in actuality he is marking up pricing astronomically. **** Mordhorst will talk for hours about what he will do for you so that you come out on top in your current situation, but without any action, talk is cheap. He tried to charge us a $4500 fee for permit expediting after we waited 3.5 months for permit approvals all the while he told us that the city was the reason for the delay. I took it upon myself and called the city to inquire about the delay and was able to have the permits approved within 15 minutes. Needless to say, he still asserted that we owed him the fee for permit expediting. He will tell you that he is a part of an insurance company's preferred vendor program, just as he told me, but this was a false statement and he was not in fact, a part of my insurance company's program. He also neglected to disclose that he was not permitted to work in my county, but he let me sign a contract to complete work in my county without providing me that information.Blue Ribbon Exteriors and Construction Response

It is unfortunate that this customer is unhappy with the service we provided him. Either way the information he posted is not correct. The Facts are:1) This customer was terminated for non-payment, and we still have not received payment on our final invoice.2) ************* carrier paid the permit fees and the customer refuses to reimburse me and my joint venture for the permit. The information that allowed him to pull the permit was privileged to him only via him hiring the contractor and BRE not having any access to the information.3) This customer had around $185,000.00 approved via Insurance. Between BRE and the PA we were able to get him his entire policy amount of $440,000.00 approved by the carrier. This works out to be 1/3 he was able to get and BRE and the PA were able to get 2/3 increase from his insurance. I would say this is a very big win. I'm sorry this customer does not feel the same way and cannot appreciate the excellent services we provide. We would be happy to help this customer with any issues they have. We would be willing to show anybody that asks in our office this file so they can validate the outcome. This homeowner is welcome to call our office at ************ to get their issues resolved.Customer Response

if you came to the BBB site to research a business, ask yourself if you want to hire someone who is willing to offer your personal claim information to anyone who walks in asking to see it. Our contract was terminated by BRE after we questioned a 40% markup on cabinetry and requested an itemized receipt of what we ordered. BRE refused to provide us with an itemized list and pricing, because they were concealing a massive markup. We paid 40% more for BRE to refer us to a cabinet wholesaler. That's quite the referral fee. BRE will tell you that we paid retail pricing which is wholly inaccurate. We obtained estimates from two other retailers for the exact same brand and layout of cabinets we ordered through BRE, which confirmed that we paid 2.5 times more than retail. Even when we asked BRE to provide us with an itemized list of our cabinet order without the pricing, they refused, so we had no clue what was actually ordered. The only documentation BRE provided consisted of three one page documents, all of which indicated the color of the cabinetry we ordered and the total cost, but no other information. Of course, they arrived in the wrong color and BRE is refusing to fix the issue.$440,000 exceeds both the amount that our insurance agreed to pay out, as well as our dwelling limits for our policy. Again, another false statement by BRE. Our limits were paid out when BRE finally got around to completing their estimate, which took a whopping 7 months after we signed a contract with them. Despite what BRE claims about their role in getting our limits paid out, the fact is that we are under-insured. We never accepted the insurance companies claimed payout amount in the first place. Independently of BRE, we dug into the insurance rebuild estimate and saw that they were offering about $1,000 to insulate a **** sq. ft. home. BRE was not responsible for the insurance company's decision to pay out the policy limits in full.BRE's statement about being owed monies because insurance approved it in their estimate leaves out some important context. Insurance agreed to pay out our policy in full, and to do the least amount of work possible simply approved line items from BRE's estimate to get to the amount policy limits.. ***** consulting with an attorney, we discovered that that is in no way an acknowledgement that BRE is owed monies for any line items on the estimate. Do not let them fool you. Also, every aspect of work that BRE did on our home was done without the proper permitting, and was incomplete and not done to code. We had to have everything BRE touched re-done and paid 1/5th of what they charged to have it done correctly. Lastly, the charges BRE is asserting we still owe them are blatant fabrications as a last attempt to extort money from us. When we asked them to remedy the cabinet situation (of which they were paid in full), we were told, "DO NOT CONTACT ** AGAIN." If you do decide to work with them, do yourself the favor of getting a full estimate that you can compare with other vendors, before you sign a contract.
