In December 2022 this company replaced our old cedar fence. Initially, everything looked good. However; three months later, we noticed that all the nails in the fence had long (6" to 24") black stains coming down from each nail. (see photo) I had **** (works with the company) look at this and he said he had never seen this problem before. After his investigation, he told me their company had bought some nails from their supplier that turned out to be defective (not corrosion resistant). In fact, the supplier told them that four companies had similar problems with those particular nails. ****'s mother ****** (who runs the business) said they would replace the pickets we see to correct the problem for us. On June 26 the company replaced about a third of the pickets, but there are still more to be replaced. After that, they never returned. On July 13 my wife and I visited the office of Denver Fence Construction and ****** said they will not complete the work since it is costing them too much money. Even though she promised to do this, she apparently changed her mind and told us it is not her problem. At this point both her and her son are unwilling to complete the work they started. On July 13, I presented the attached letter to ****** and tried to get resolution, but she was unwilling to do so.Business response

I was notified that the nails on the project we installed for this customer were bleeding. We immediately went there to see what the problem was.
All nails used in the industry will bleed unless you use a stainless steel nail which is very expense. He told us that he would purchase these himself if we agreed to remove the panels and install new ones. This is what we did. The reason he turned us into the BBB is that he did not let me know that the material was on his property. I thought he wanted more material which I had not agreed on. We have never had a customer make us do this because the nails are bleeding. The construction of the fence was the best using #1 materials. We have finished the project and satisfied *******************

I am rejecting this response because:Please see the attached document that shows my response to the company's initial response.
In this document I explain how the company failed to honor their commitment to resolve the problems and eventually I had to pay one of their employees separately to complete the work.
I would like to receive a letter of apology from the company for the problems and they way they failed to handle it in a timely manner.

Hello. As I mentioned in my last correspondence about the problem.
1. *********** failed to honor their initial commitment to replace all of the damaged sections of fence, due to using faulty nails.
2. *********** refused to finish replacing four remaining fence sections saying it was too expensive for them. (please see attached photo showing one of the four remaining sections damaged by faulty nails that are rusting and reacting to the cedar wood)
3. To complete the project, we had to hire one of the company's workers for $600 to complete replacing three of the four remaining fence sections.
4. We are now finished with the project but not happy with the company failing to honor its commitment and costing us more money.
5, At this point in time, we don't expect any other interaction with the company.
