Due to COVID we had a last minute crew change and the movers came a day early. I was assured that the new crew would have all the details about paying for them to pack the kitchen (part of original quote) and since they were coming early they would be able to do some minor packing if necessary. Crew showed up with no supplies for packing and had to drive 30 minutes away to get boxes, delaying move. The guy who packed the kitchen started by saying he hates packing kitchens, then proceeded to complain about packing the kitchen for the following 4 hours while packing (he said how much he hated it to my family or loud enough for us to hear 32 times...we made a game out of keeping count). He spent half of the 11hr move on a video call with a group of people. He was a nice guy, but it really embarrassed my family and made my wife really uncomfortable. More over, his "packing" included no wrapping of dishes or other breakables. He put items directly into boxes, usually without any paper or material between them. I overheard him tell another guy that "they can claim damage on the other side and get paid so I'm not too worried about it". The other guy walked off the job for half of the 11 hours. On the other side we had dozens of broken items (all of which were packed by the "professionals" and a missing 65" TV. The unload crew was amazing and super helpful, however the lead told me that I had 90 days to file claims for damaged and missing items. When I filed the claim, the (stolen/missing) TV was flat rejected because "its your responsibility to check for any missing items" among a houseful of boxes; even though the lead mover told me that missing items could be claimed. The whole $16,000 process was disappointing and now I have over $3,500 dollars of damaged goods with a $200 settlement offer that I turned down. Complete ripoff. The company has ignored 4 attempts to contact by phone and email.

This "so-called"moving company was hired to to my move from OR to MI. They came on the scheduled day 11/12/21 and they showed up with only ONE person to load my stuff. But before loading, he said I would need to pay $4,600 extra because I had more stuff than declared which was not true! Anyway, I had no choice but to pay. He also damaged one of my house walls and it costed me $300 to fix and even though he said he would pay me, he never did. They delivered my goods on 12/7/21 and by the end of the delivery we found out that there were a number of goods that were not delivered. We realized that about 15% of my stuff was missing which they said they found 2 weeks later. It is now 6 weeks and every week they say next week. I wonder whether they really have my goods.I just want my goods which I paid big money to have them moved in good conditions.

      Business response

First, we would like to apologize for any inconvenience that the customer may have experienced.  It is never our intention for our customers to be less than satisfied with our services
Per federal regulations any additional items and services requested which were not included in the original estimate and may result in additional charges require that the movers provide a revised binding estimate which automatically cancels any previous estimates.  The customer was provided a revised binding estimate which included all requested additional services prior to the loading of their goods to which their signature attests.
However, the customer was referred to CSI, our claim company, to file a claim for loss, damage, delay, overcharge, and complaint. A claim login email link was sent to them on 01/24/2022 Up to date no claim has been filed. CSI will be informed by the dispatch office when/if any items are recovered. All the above can and must be compensated through the claims process as required by federal regulations.
Per Federal Regulations we must NOT voluntarily pay any claims unless filed in writing per the filing requirements and within the time limit allowed by law. We regret that the customer found it necessary to file a ******************** complaint, but we trust that the above explanation enables them to better understand our position in this matter.
