7/10/23 I found a local auto body repair shop online ( B Rods). We drove our **** ************* hopes to have the repairs made. The estimate (photo attached) came in at approx. $3500. This was acceptable to our insurance company as the repairs would have been less than 40% of the value of the vehicle. ***** (owner) assured us the repairs could be made within a month after receipt of the parts. On 8/8/23, I received a phone call from ***** saying they found more damage after removal of the bumper cover and lights. Suggesting we contact our insurance because the repairs were going to cost an additional $1000+ . I did as suggested and the insurance adjustor ended up "totaling" the vehicle being as the repairs were now up to 70% of value. We had asked for a refund of the money we paid. Since the only work he performed was the removal of the bumper cover and receipt of parts, we expected the remaining fees to be refunded. ***** continues to be dismissive saying to get the refund from the insurance. The insurance company (********************* agency) will reimburse us for the bumper and lights which were the only parts received by ***********I have additional photos, text messages, and before and after photos proving nothing was done other than removal of the bumper cover. I hope to resolve this and help a neighborhood business owner who relies on word of mouth and reviews on his web page for business to do the right thing. This is my last attempt for resolution before litigation. Thank you *********************
