  Two gasoline tanks were replaced on a 1989 ****** Camry.The first replacement tank leaked after 8 months.A replacement for the replacement tank was installed from the same manufacturer, ******.The 2nd replacement tank leaked after 3 months, from exactly the same place on the tank.The problem is that someone is going to get another tank from ******, park their car in a garage, and later that tank will also leak and gasoline fumes will be ignited by a water heater pilot lame. Someone could be killed. The problem with this business is they refuse to report the problem to the manufacturer, or to give us the tank to use as evidence of the defect.The old leaking tank needs to be preserved so the manufacturer can understand their problem.A report is being filed with the Federal Trade Commision.

  My complaint #******** has been resolved amicably.  **** of Lafayette Import Car Care has given me the gas tank in question for me to make available to the *** if they wish to examine it. Thank you for your timely intervention to save that gas tank as evidence of manufacturer defect.
