I wish I had read the BBB review on this business before I sent a deposit for a mare and filly pair. I sent $500 for the deposit, but pending the *** of the mare. Turns out the mare is not what she advertised. I asked for my $500 refund and she said she would give it less PayPal fees, which she charged me $100. So I am waiting for the $400. Do not do business with *******************. She gives horse sales a bad reputation. I want my money back...a full refund.

We apologize that you feel there was a misrepresentation. Our policy aligns with the industry standards of nonrefundable deposits unless other negotiated terms are discussed and agreed upon mutually. In this case, we refunded your deposit (minus the PayPal and the rush registration fees), as there should have been better communication on which registry we submitted the documentation to. Additionally, the horse was advertised as registered pending, with all information being provided by our clients/sellers and confirmed to the best of our knowledge. All standard sale terms, including our updated deposit policy, can be reviewed at **********-equine.com.

I was going to purchase a horse from this professional trainer and horse seller. She demanded a 10% deposit. When the horse was delivered to the vet before final sale, it was hurt. The sale didnt go through, but Kari Rippy refuses to return the deposit. No paperwork or verbal warning was given that the deposit is non refundable. I am willing to pay a reasonable amount for time and hauling, but not 10% of the value.

We apologize that you feel the nonrefundable deposit policy was not appropriately communicated. Our policy at *********** aligns with the industry standards of nonrefundable deposits unless other negotiated terms are discussed and agreed upon mutually. In this case, we would send a written statement to the buyer documenting the agreed-upon updated terms. All standard sale terms, including our updated deposit policy, can be reviewed at **********-equine.com.

*********** would be happy to supply the vet reports for the horse mentioned above for anyone interested in additional information.

I am rejecting this response because:

*** horse was delivered to a pre-purchase exam by a qualified veterinarian in a manner that was inconsistent with how the horse was first and not as viewed.  It was unridable, and actually unhealthy and lame.  *** care for this animal in the week between first viewing was inappropriate and potentially should have been reported to state authorities. Finally, the veterinarian reports referenced by the seller were at least 2 months old, and are not applicable.  As anyone knows buying a horse based on old veterinarian reviews is foolish.  Any buyer's looking at horses from this seller should NOT provide a deposit, and insist on a veterinarian exam prior to any payment due to subsequent care issues.

*** amount of deposit should be returned in full.

      Sincerely,

      *****************************
