TL;DR - Hiring ***** was the single worst financial decision I have ever made. He is unlicensed, uninsured, lies about his capabilities, stole our money, and didn't finish the job - truly fits the definition of the term 'con man'. Do not hire. He has another company by the name 'Lone Husky Customs LLC' and has fled ******** to avoid legal pursuit.First off, I can confirm the validity of the review by '**********'. ***** bragged to us several times about the large sum he'd received for his next job. Later, he was having loud phone calls in my home trying to morally justify keeping the money because that next client had wanted to cancel the work for being weeks overdue to start. He showed up to my house with a brand new truck shortly after all this. You can search ****** and find the lawsuit docs.On to our experience - ***** was a sub on some previous work at our home. He bragged about his crew and capabilities, so I eventually interviewed him for our basement reno. He was charismatic and seemed to know what he was doing. ***** was competitive with other bids, but most importantly, he was extrememly confident in his ability to finish the job before our baby arrived. We gave him a sizable deposit, and he quickly moved an enormous number of tools into our basement, as if our home were a storage unit. I'm limited on characters, so I'll summarize what happened after: *Demo went fast (turns out breaking things is all he could do) * Brought his dog over without permission constantly - big no from us with a reno, pregnancy, and our own dogs. * Didn't pull permits * Had no crew - tried to solo it all * Spent a week doing electrical incorrectly. I had to have it redone. * Crushed our home with a deck and broke 3 windows. * Caused water leaks and made us pay for repair. * Cheaped on materials and pocketed difference. * Worst drywall texture I've ever seen (and I'm a realtor). * Installed wrong window ***** - had to redo. Out of space, but there's oh so much more. Do not hire!

The owner of this business is *********************. "Lonestar Construction + Design" is a DBA for a FURNITURE company, primarily building tables. He is not a licensed contractor or a construction company, and has no CO license. His name accurately describes what he did: he welched. First, he provided "plans" for the job that consisted only of a screen-shot with no dimensions or details. After signing a contract to remodel my home for my special needs son and receiving a 5-figure (almost 6-figure) check, he repeatedly scheduled to begin work then never started work or made a commitment for a new start-date. He then showed up with a brand new pick up truck, stopped answering calls, had a full voice mailbox, cancelled the contact and kept all of the money without doing a lick of work. Legal action is underway. Avoid this character, as he apparently HAS no character.
